Our List volunteer this week is Joanie (Painter) ...thank you Joanie for a creative list .

If you are new to this challenge all we do is give you a list and you find the items in your home or work and draw them .. then post them for us to see...this kind of challenge helps with still life drawing ..looking at a 3 dementional object and drawing it ... its very easy.. and alot of fun ....normally Jeanette ran this thread and she did a outstanding job of it .. she is wise with the words smile.gif I hope I make her proud lol .

Here is the list .. you may use pencil .. color pencils any medium you wish .. just have fun .

1. Radio
2. Toothbrush
3. Basket of Laundry
4. Footstool
5. Door Knob
6. Frying Pan
7. Can of Soup
8. Pitcher
9. Glass of water with ice cubes in it
10. Stove
11. Nail Clippers
12. Several Coins - stacked or scattered or inside a change purse
Juniperdime
Nice list Joanie. There are a few things that I would like to try there. Hopefully the time fairy drops by today.
Mecharver
Great list this week as always.

Here's my first drawing. The nail clipper.
There was once a chain attached to it, but it's been reported missing for some time now.

I will try to make more drawing as time permit.

I just love these challenges.
The clipper was a challenge, every time I move my head, the reflection of the light change and
I had to reposition mysefl to get the right view. I guess that's why they call it a challenge.

While I'm at it, I have a question. How do you post a comment without having the whole message posted with your response? The picture and all get posted when I try to comment on a drawing. Thanks

Ok here is another drawing. My old tooth brush.

Also my cofee money for tomorrow.

There is a radio also done this one tonight. It's a kid radio, I wouldn't listen to this radio for too long. The sound is not very good in those little plastic things.

PS: where do you find the fast reply, all I see is (quote and reply)?

Never mind, finaly found it at the bottom of the page. Thanks
J-Lynn
That's a great job on the nail clippers. A neat list too, Joanie.

Mecharver, I always use the fast reply to keep from posting another message with the picture in it. You can't use the smilies but I usually don't add them anyway. I think the AddReply will allow you to use the smilies, etc. but not add the quote also but I'm not real sure on that.

Mecharver ...great job and detail on those clippers ....smile.gif

Mercharver - here's a little tip for you. When I was drawing my lightbulb I did this. The bulb kept rolling over on me (I guess my table wasn't level) I stuck a tiny piece of my kneaded eraser on the bottom and it stood still. LOL Anyway, I also drew a little line on the table to mark where it was placed so my highlights wouldn't keep changing on me. Then erased the table when I was done.

Great job on the clippers - that really was a hard one.
Aviation
Well, I might try this list for fun even if I can't upload them.

The cup of water with ice in it should be fun. Lets play "How fast can you draw?"
Can of soup - Who am I, Andy Warhol?

I didn't see the option of nail clippers at first so Mechaver's from far away looked like an upside down bug.
painter48
Aviation - Doesn't have to be Campbells Tomato Soup - so no copyright infringement on Mr. Warhol LOL

Bug!..................lol...................that's funny. If you only knew me, you would know I would not put BUG on the list or anywhere near me...........I won't even draw one. I recently drew a Bee on a flower but it grossed me out to do it. I HATE BUGS!!!!! LOL

Why don't you make the list the next round? I wasn't so easy.

painter48
Here's a few, not very good but its getting late and I'm tired. (Sounds like a good excuse doesn't it?) LOL

painter I love the sketches .. this is one of my favorite threads ..i hope we continue with the list .. I know its kinda hard to come up with them .. but I need a volunteer to do a list for the next week ... anybody ? smile.gif
Farfallina
If you don't have any offers Kim, I'll try to help out. When would you need it?

AND... I'll have to find time to attempt some of Joanie's items. I always think drawing from life is the best training for the eye... sometimes drawing from pictures makes us lazy.
kim1963
Thank you Rose ....it will start the 10 but i will need the list by the 9th .. you can pm a list anytime between now and then .. thank you so much .
Cyn
Here is my cousins door knob that I quickly sketched before I left this afternoon. My house has all antique glass knobs and for the life of me I cannot draw all the facets in them.. rolleyes.gif

kim1963
very good cyn....that looks like a cool doorknob ..mine are so basic .

I know I hate bugs too. Especially centipedes! I have them all over my house. UGh! I had to draw one once. Even though it was out of a picture, it was gross. Bees freak me out too.

I like everybody's attempt at these. If I were to try to make a list, I would try to make a variety of items and difficulties.
painter48
Aviation - well, Kim is looking for someone to make up a list. Just PM her a list of 10 to 12 items and she'll post it for you. I really is hard to think of things that haven't already been used already.

Ugh, Centipedes! horrible creatures! My son has them now and then in his finished basement - that's why I never go down there when I go over to babysit. hahahaha
kim1963
Aviation please if you like to make a list I will need one for the 16th thru 23 ...its open !
List can be hard to come up with .. things i have not seen yet ... are any kinds of tools .....not alot of clothing like jeans ..ummm ..funrniture .. things like that .. open a cupboard and look through it .. you will find alot of things .. and if we list some of the same things thats fine to .. not everyone had a chance to do all of them .

ahhh, so many options of things to draw between this thread, the forensic thread and the other weekly drawing challenge!!!! and worst of all I have too much work this week and not enough time to work on the drawings.

Painter... you would love the challenge Rose posted on the weekly drawing challenge. It's a nice juicy fat moth tongue.gif

Question - is it cheating if I make the glass holding the ice opaque so you can't see in it???

LOL - what's cheating? My opinion is all's fair - but the idea was to be able to draw ice cubes - so draw whatever you're comfortable with. Or challenge yourself and go outside your comfort zone. Just enjoy yourself - that's what its all about!
Yes, I saw that BUG - I'll have to speak to her about that - hehehehe - her name means butterfly in Italian and she likes to draw butterflies - so that was sort of like one....LOL I like butterflies but I wouldn't touch one! haha

Hope you free yourself up just a little so you can participate. biggrin.gif

All excellent entries in this thread - I don't know how you all find the time to enter so many challenges and do so much drawing - it takes me ages just to do one! Sylvia
Farfallina
Good job I came into this thread! I've been so busy I forgot all about my promise to you Kim!! blush.gif But I have already made out the list and will be PMing it to your shortly.

Very, very nice work everyone!! smile.gif

Meantime here's my contribution - a set of local coins and a little transistor radio that only manages to capture anything if you hold the antenna to a metal doorframe!!! laugh.gif laugh.gif - oh well - it was just a free gift from the grocery store!
