Hello,

I've just skimmed through the website and it seems excellent (with a lot of "step by step") even for omeone who can't draw (as I am), but does it exists as a book to buy ?

I know that I can register and download the pdf but I do not have a printer.

If it do not exist I'm interested by some reference for books (I'm aware of the existence of "drawing for dummies" by the same author but I'm less convinced by it). If it is impossible, i'm interested by other references.

thanks

Click on Brenda Hoddinott on the bottom of your screen and you'll read all about her as site owner and artist.

Here is the information that you may be interested in regarding your question on whether there is a book.

In the fall of 2001, Brenda received an e-mail from a literary agent in New Jersey who was looking for an artist to write a basic book on drawing. After eagerly accepting the opportunity to compete for this book contract, Brenda devoted three months to writing and rewriting book proposals, tables of contents, and sample chapters. In early 2002, Brenda was notified that she had won the competition to write and illustrate Drawing for Dummies.

On March 4, 2003, Drawing for Dummies was published by Wiley Publishing, Inc., New York, New York. This heavily illustrated 336 page book has been translated into Dutch, Spanish, and Bulgarian, and is available on various websites and in major bookstores internationally.

In the fall of 2003, Brenda was offered a contract to write a book that specialized on drawing people, for Alpha, a member of Penguin Group USA Inc. The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Drawing People Illustrated was published internationally in August of 2004, and subsequently distributed to major bookstores and websites around the world.

On February 1st, 2005 Brenda was notified that she had won the Book of the Year Award for 2004 (Alpha – Penguin - Pearson Education – Macmillan, in Indianapolis, Indiana) for her book, The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Drawing People Illustrated. During the next three years, Brenda will be writing another drawing book for a US publisher, as well as a series of drawing e-books to be published by her own company, Hoddinott Fine Art Publishers, Halifax, NS, Canada.

Gyhelle - Youdo not require a printer to do these lessons. You can simply view them online and do them that way. That is what I do anyhow adn I have learnt so much already in the short time that I have been here. Also by meeting the other members and participating in the forums you will find that you grow as an artist from all of their helo and support very quickly.

If I understand well, a real book based on the e-books will be published.

Yes, I know I can do that, but I'm someone who do not have access to internet when I have time to learn to draw and I very much prefer read something on a paper than on a screen ( moreover, my english is not so good, meaning that I need more time to read and understand a text)

Best regards.
