This heavily illustrated lesson takes you step-by-step, through the entire process of drawing a realistic rosebud. Text is kept to a minimum to challenge you to rely on your visual skills to render accurate proportions and add shading, using hatching and crosshatching graduations.

This lesson was relly good to follow but somehow I lost one part of the flower (on purpose actully) and also I didn't use hatching with lines as I find it a bit more hard and there is more chance to make mistakes... rolleyes.gif

oh i loooove this lesson! - i tried it as my second lesson here, but i (well, not I - my SCHOOL sad.gif ) lost it. now i draw it again (for my boyfried smile.gif, and i can see so much differences. wonderful motive and wonderful explanation!

The easyest way to make 3D is to make the outermost parts very dark and make the inner-center most parts light, so there would be a quite big contarst between them. Ofcourse, when you can do it smoothly, then it would be even more better, but that is just that something that comes only with practice.

This lesson was amazing, I'm quite pleased with the result and the skills I have picked up. I don't have a scanner, so I can't post my rose.. I wouldn't anyway because i'm so intimidated by the amazing work some people here have done! It took me a while, but it was well worth the effort. happy.gif ( I hope i'm typing this in the right place, i'm very new! blush.gif )

I dont have a scanner either, so I just photograph my drawings which works quite well. I agree this is a great lesson, I really enjoyed it too.
