I was just trying to see what techniques are used the most. I generally use stumps to blend. I have done a couple of things using hatching but I like the look of blending better. If I was better at hatching I might use it more. Just want some opinions.

I have just learned how to do circulism with our portrait class I really like how it looks. Tiny little circles overlapping each other then layer upon layer to build up your darks.

Just don't get used to using stumps, especially on portraits. The face might turn out to look flat.

Just have fun with experimenting with different techniques.

I always liked to blend - I used estompen, Q-Tips or my fingers. But Since I worked with the book "Drawing for Dummies" I like much more the way Kim does the shading. Or with different grades of graphit.

And the way Paulette does it, lookes very good to me - it needs a lot of patience. And patience is a scarce good for me. blush.gif (Did I said it correct?)

But I am working on this........
