Thanks for the comments.
Painter - That helped a great deal, thanks.
Kim - I'm glad I tried it. It's just so very far off from what I normally do... Oh, and if "he is not really that green" was ment to refer to my lizard, I hope he doesn't since he's brown.
I love the style of the ferrit drawing. Looks like it would make a cool tattoo.

i went to comedy central and then southpark and then there is a quiz you can take--read through it and answer the questions and at the end it will tell you who you are like. and show a picture but they give you a link you copy and paste on your website--they say its a badge but thats what it is. i hope thats the one everyone is talking about.
here is another one i did. her name is jorga (she looks like the hamster but i actually did it for my sons guinea pig) and she is a racecar driver. i did it in watercolor and watercolor pencils and a very little bit of black in a gel pen. please let me know honest opinions if you think it good or okay or whatever-you wont hurt my feelings. i am thinking of pursueing childrens book illustrations but not sure about. thanks

Kim, thanks for your comments....and I read what you said on Cyn's b-day thread....you are pretty sweet yourself hun....
Painter....thanks and that is funny about your clock...

My Mom bought me a men's Boop watch last year on e-bay....funny no one bid on it and she paid only one dollor for it , but 8 for shipping

....it is a real novelty watch I like it.

My very fist sketch of Betty I accidently put b on the end of her name instead of p, was I ever embarrassed when I realized what I did..
Lori, thanks again for your kind comments.

Cyn , glad you liked my card ...

Hope you had a great one.

Good to be back here after more than 2 months absence

: Here's mine.
Sorry for breaking the rules by leaving my illustrations in black and white, the reason is that I do not intend to color it and thought that you and the others would want to see it. Asking some people to put black and white illustrations only might stop others who want to participate posting because many people do not like coloring their pieces or rather they are not too good at coloring. I think everyone should have the chance to show what they have done whether black and white or color.
Sorry to say all this, it is just my humble suggestions. Hope you like mine. Done in 2004 :

Actually Dean, I recanted my statement about the cartoons being done in color and said that black and white was acceptable in on the first page. I wanted it to where everyone would feel free to do a cartoon and understood many people might not have the mediums for color drawings.

Lovely job on your cartoons I love them!!! Hope to see more and welcome back.

I feel so stupid now Venus. Sorry for that. I did not read it completely but just watched the drawings. I really like your cameleon. Reminds me of my childwood in the little Tropical island Mauritus where I come from. We used to see so many of these little creatures but now it is almost becomming extinc on the island. Thanks for making me go back in my sweet childhood with that lovely illustration.

Ok. I promised I would join this challenge, and that was a couple of days ago and I can't seem to get a decent cartoon using the Mouse and Chameleon.

vhpayes - I like your lion very much......................but, I was really anticipating a different cartoon from you. You are very talented in this area I know. Oh well, maybe next time. I'll definitely look forward to it.
BTW the cartoon doesn't have to involve both the mouse and lizard. It can be either one.
Venus
Feb 22 2007, 08:25 PM

Kev, don't feel stupid, you were not the only one to say something about it all being in color thats why I changed it. I am glad I brought up a happy childhood memory for you. Sad that the little chameleons are becoming extinct. People have a way of ruining stuff without even realizing it all of the world and its sad.

VH..Don't worry I do like your lion.

Thanks Painter for clarifying for me.

Hi All,
Aviation... thanks for your kind words on Betty Boop.....I believe she was created by the same creator as Popeye his name was Max Fleisher, and she was modeled from the actress Mae West.....as I find many cartoons are modeled from people.
Thanks Lori and Kim, glad you like Cyn Kid....Lori hope to see more of your cartoons you are great at them..
Dean...I am honoured to meet you and I admire your talents very much. Hope to see some recent work.

Brian - thank you, Snoopy is sooooo cute. My DH will get a kick out of it. He does wear a uniform to work but he's a railroad cop so he doesn't walk the beat. He is also on a special team (just like a SWAT team, but it's called a SORT team) so he sometimes wears a completely different type of outfit, if you know what I mean.
I'm still brainstorming to get another cartoon done before this challenge is over, but not sure if I'll make it in time. Lots going on this week. heheheheh Oh, and I don't care what you call me as long as you don't call me before noon...... LOL
Southern Cross - I like your "bad habit"

and like Kim, can't figure out how you did that?? We have a thing going on here with a few people wanting to try to quit smoking. If you ever decide to quit, this is a good place to get support. I haven't had one in 2 1/2 years now. But doesn't mean that I don't still want them. LOL

Nice Dean and Vh.
Painter- I understand who she is, its just I don't find her very entertaining, I guess I am a little too young to understand this classic.
I just realized that I find it odd how its hard to find an actual cartoon of her yet I see a bunch of products and her image posted everywhere. Yet you don't see images of other classic cartoons.
Brian - The same creator of Popeye? I was actually thinking that Boop reminded me of Popeye. And great Snoopy! Now there is a cartoon that I will never stop loving.
painter48
Feb 23 2007, 05:38 AM
Aviation - yes, unfortunately you grew up in another generation than some of us and didn't get to see the old time cartoons. Actually, they were pretty violent and very slap-stick type cartoons. The animation was extremely choppy and nothing like you are used to. They didn't censor them as much as today.
When Disney came out with his animated cartoons, it was like night and day. We very seldom got to see color cartoons either. Mostly because we didn't have a color TV because it wasn't available to the public yet.
So if you wanted color cartoons, you had to go to the movie theater to see them.
Sounds like the old story: Father to Son: "We had to walk 3 miles to school in the cold and snow and rain in the olden days. " LOL
My husband and I still like to watch some of the oldie cartoons. But I can still appreciate "some" of the new ones too, especially South Park.

joanie i did not know your husband was in the law Enforcment Thats awsome .. i was going to be a State Trooper but during my physical they found I was with child ....Surprise for me so I was going to try another time .. then 4 months later I lost the baby and me and my husband were just heart broken .. after that I had to wait for 3 months .. then soon as i could I was pregnant again .. by the time I had my daughter .. one I was not in the smae shape as I was and they have a very hard physical test and two .. I was a mom now and had other ideas ...

Thanks Painter....if I only had known I would have drawn a little track in the back and gave Snoop a swat type uniform....lol

Promise, I won't call before noon...lol
Aviation thanks for your comments....and I find Painters last post interesting...I love the classic cartoons....they were so well done and such "detail" in some of the scenery and back grounds and all hand drawn...some also had music to them and some had the old follow the bouncing ball sing along ....I found them to be very entertaining. I have a few on dvd I like to play from time to time.
Thanks Kim , I love to add a personal touch
