I didn't wait till the weekend to do my portrait this time around... the urge was too strong to resist.

I had to show my gratitude to my bestest friend and mentor Deborah - also a member of this board as SweetSilverBird. She was the one who introduced me to this site and practically made me draw. You know, Deborah has this wonderful ability to make people search deep inside themselves to find what my be latent and hidden in there.

I know I can never thank you enough Deborah... but I hope you will accept this as a little token of my gratitude. smile.gif

I thought I wouldn't bore you peops with continuing updates but I still did several scans which I'm showing here. BTW, one thing I've found out is just how useful these scans are. As the shading progresses over several hours it's not uncommon to stray a little from the original line drawing. That could wreak havoc with a likeness. Having earlier scans for comparison is really invaluable for necessary corrections.

What a thrill! I'm sure most people don't realize how exciting it is to have a portrait done of them. It's such a great feeling! I feel like a cherished friend, and that means so very much to me.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Deborah - you are so very lucky to have Rose as a friend. And what a friend she is to have done your portrait. She has become so very talented at portraiture in such a sort time. It truly is inspiring. Thank you for introducing her to this website.

Nellie
Rose you are a special person, very good

I think that if all of us posted a ref pic with ourself as subject, Rose would complete all the portraits in a couple of weeks. Portraits just come out of her hands so I think she "has" the portrait of "everyone" in the world and post it whenever requested. dry.gif C'mon, confess! You have your basement full of portraits! mad.gif

Ok, stop jokin'. You are amazing Rose.

Deborah - you are most welcome my dear. I can't tell you how much I loved doing it. I'm glad you liked it. smile.gif

Lori: I have done one colour portrait of my grandchildren. Colour is much harder since there is no erasing and coming up with the perfect skin tone is not all that easy. I mean to practice with my coloured pencils a lot more before I attempt another colour portrait.

Nellie - Thank you - you are so sweet. smile.gif

Joanie: It is I who am lucky to have Deborah as a friend not the other way round. smile.gif

Paolo: You always make me smile.... now go on - why don't you challenge me - I would be thrilled to do a portrait of a dishy Italian male! biggrin.gif

biggrin.gif Wow, Rose!! I knew you were amazing but dang..you just took your tallent and flourished!!! And its been what 7 months of practice or less? Many people wish they had your tallent and some have been drawing their whole life!!! ( Like me.. tongue.gif ) I wish I could do a portrait that good but I loose patience and interest. Maybe one of these days but at the moment, I'll stick with my flowers and butterflies. I know I am good at those. You are such a great friend, I am sure Deborah is honored and she feels the same way about you as you do her...Wish my girlfriends and best friends were as thoughtful. All they care about is when their next bar night is... sad.gif

Thank you Kim, Paulette, Venus - it's been three months and one week to be exact. smile.gif

I have seen so many improvments with many members .. it is so awsome to see that they are learning and taking what they learn and applying it to the paper .
