Full Version: U01 - Annie
Drawspace forums > Drawing lesson comments > Advanced > U - Faces & figures
admin
In this lesson you draw a frontal view of a small child, with emphasis on correct facial proportions. You use both crosshatching and hatching to define textures and forms, and utilize a challenging grid to help you render the accurate proportions of the various parts of her head and face.

The ears seem a little too high up...
Brenda Hoddinott
Shruti Aji Murali

If you look closely, her lower chin is slightly tucked into her neck, causing her upper head to tilt slightly forward. Try this with your own face in a mirror and you will notice that the perspective changes slightly creating the illusion that your ears are higher on your head.

But thank you for the critique. Now, according to Drawspace rules you have to find 10 nice things to say about our members' drawings! (Big grin)

I believe she had a good reason for putting it in the expert place. It's hard to draw a face for some people and I believe its even hard for those that jion today.
