Okay Mr. ****.. here's my other world..
I inherited this big ole Hoosier from a Family member.. what better place for it to be .. Houses all my Stuff..
Fairly organized on the surface for most of the time .. I refuse to open the doors and Drawers for anyone to see..
My son says when I die he's gonna get rid of that awful paint on the walls..He doesn't know yet I am putting in my will that it has to stay or he gets NUTHIN'..he'll probably say I was not in my right mind.. he wouldn't be too far off the mark.. You can tell I am not afraid of color !!

Carol, Kay and Steve, love your workspaces! I hesitate to add a photo of mine, since the EPA would probably fine me for it. My creative space is currently in my husband's truck. (It's usually in my car, but the tires are too slick to drive). Really it has all the conveniences any artist would need, heating, air conditioning, sun visor, plenty of space in the back for sketch pads, my big bag, camera, lenses, photo equipment, and the ever handy cup holder.
There's a nice tailgate too for those quick sketches outdoors (en plein air de la redneck) or to stand on to take photos of wildlife. But the best feature is that the truck goes from 0 to 60 mph in 45 seconds, whereas a bear only goes to 0 to 35 mph. Bulls average 25 mph, raccoons around 15 mph. Apparently, the little ding-ding-ding the vehicle makes when you leave the keys in the ignition annoys them too.

Kay the color is suppose to be Turquoise...In most Indian art I found it to be the loveliest so I used it as inspiration .. The Hutch is so nice !! Old but nice.. .. The table part slides out another foot or so and gives me extra room to draw on.. The cabinets house a lot of my books and art supplies .. More than I should ever have in a lifetime.. Each time I open it up I think,, today I will try something new .. I only wish that my today's were longer.. Sadly I have to work in order to fill those cabinets and drawers..

I really do. It's a rolling studio born from necessity - at home something is always going on, and it's hard to find quiet time, even on weekends. On the other hand, at work, I'm able to walk out to the truck say on lunch or coffee break and spend a few quiet minutes drawing. Most of the year, I'm able to keep my camera equipment in it too (except for summer time, way too hot) so if I see a great photo while driving around, I can quickly grab my camera and (sometimes) get a good shot. We're in the process of building a studio, but work on it has slowed to a crawl after Bill's accident - when it gets done, I'll have some great space!

steve omg...you make me laugh out loud..

Kim, the process of making syrup is very long drawn out and hard process, its a big thing up here, in fact way up north they have like a sap pipeline in the woods with hoses and what not going from tree to tree to tree to a catchall place..It takes so much sap and so much work to make just a little tiny bit of syrup and that is why some ppl may find syrup expensive, but when the process is understood they gladly pay the price for a small bit..and it is delicious.
Kind of like Alaskan King Crab, one of my fav seafoods, i used to fuss about the price, but after watching deadliest catch and what those men go thru to get that to my table I am very happy to pay the money for it..Of course that is just a treat once in awhile..

Kat & Kay: Great table! Where did you get it? I love the size and it looks angled which is perfect for drawing.
My workspace also doubles as my computer desk. I am very thankful that I have a laptop that is easy to move. I definitely need to find a new drawing desk/table that allows for good lighting.

Why not try looking for an old draughtsmans board? You can pick these up pretty cheaply these days! Lots of architects have gone completey digital and sell off their old draughting tables! Or look on
eBay. Or your local newspaper small adds.

A drafting table is a great idea Steve! I did a quick google search and even found a portable one that would be perfect for me. It is sturdy enough to draw on but provide an angled surface. I can also fold it up and put it under my bed when I want to use my computer. Thank you!

Here is my space at the moment,
My studio in Lagos, lovely big windows with lots of light, the view unfortunately is not that great as i live in a high security compound so lots of barbed wire and high walls. I have a studio in Johannesburg that overlooks the garden and pool area and one on my farm in Mpumalanga with views of the African bush.
