Hi all...

I need help getting the shading correct with this kitten drawing...I'm having trouble getting the shade without making the cat look to dark (instead of it's color which is white)! Any tips/tricks/help would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks in advance...Carol

That's sounds like a great idea...looking at it in grey scale the tree and leaves look alot darker. I'm thinking if I darken them it will make the cat look whiter. Thinking I might need to lighten the cat some. Thanks for your help.

I third the darker background also if you boost the contrast a wee bit it will help you see the shadows in the kitty's fur so that she or he will have a more 3 dimensional look...just as there are different shades of grey there are also different shades of white....smile.gif you will even find....depending upon how detailed you get some areas were you will use darker values and little hints of black in your white kitty.
