Hi all.
Is there already a thread about landscape pencil drawing?
And is there a drawing lesson about this?
I am as blind as a mole and cannot find anything about landscapes...

Hey Martina, to be perfectly honest I don't know whether Brenda has a lesson on landscapes and she doesn't have all that much in her book either. But, here's
a tutorial by Diane Wright which Joanie pointed me to and it has all the building blocks for landscapes. Once you get the basics I suppose it would be easier to attempt a complete picture.

Thank you Rose!
This is just what I was looking for. I hurt my hand and can not hold the pencil very good at the moment so I read about what I will do soon.

I'm in a landscape class now! So... I don't know anything off hand except we're using John Carlson's Landscape book it's about 10 dollars off Amazon.
So far all I've learned is about values and how the sky is the lightest, then the ground, then any slant lines (mountains) and the darkest are the verticals (trees). At least as a rule of thumb (Looking at the link, the first picture illustrates that pretty well). And we're learning about the sky and light and how it's the darkest value when absolutely clear because the light isn't diffused through vapor and hits the ground... and that's all we got out of the first day. We haven't painted yet and don't paint till Monday. I'm so excited!

Rose, thanks so much for the wonderful link for the tutorials!!! I just happened to be working on a dolphin drawing that is surrounded by water and could figure out how to draw it!! Now I have help. I started the picture with graphite and origially was going to do it with watercolor pencils. So I felt it if could comeplete it in the pencil first then it would look good in the watercolors. Plus all of the tutorials are great!! thanks again!!
