Full Version: How big!

Hello everyone. Could someone tell me the maximum image size to upload. My uploads get cancelled because they are too big TIA Parker

10 MB, I think, which is honestly about 50 times larger than you should actually use. Don't upload any images that people can't download in a few seconds -- say 200KB max, with 100KB a better target.

I normally resize photos to 800x600 pxl with the 800 being which ever axis is longest.
These are the other sizing scales that equal 800x600 which is for portrait aspect ratio switch them around for landscape.

inches: height 5.44 width 4.00
cm : height 13.5 width 10.2
mm : height 135 width 102
pxl : height 800 width 600

This size is small in storage requirements and can be view without scrolling on most screen resolutions and still provides fair detail. If you have cropped you photo or scan, it will probably not be exactly 800x600 since you want the aspect ratio to be locked when you resize. Just set the longest side to 800 and let the short side be whatever it is with the aspect ratio unchanged.
Hope this is helpful and not to technical.

My scanner (HP) gives an option to change resolution, so I usually change it to 75, whih seems to give an acceptable scan to upload to Drawspace. Not very technical, but it seems to work!

Make sure you change your image to a jpeg/jpg before trying to upload. With this format, you can upload some pretty big images.

I upload my work in PNG because I get better quality than JPEG but I don't upload them with a size exceeding 300 by 400 so they upload fine.
