i thought this might be fun to put here, I have taken the quiz, 20 questions, and I got a 55% saying that my left and right brains work together (ha! take that hubby)who sometimes wonders about either side..

I have a Quiz I used with my Art Fundamentals students to determine left or right brain. I have always ended up close to the middle (maybe part of that is Education training?). With your quiz my right brain is slightly dominant!

It says my left brain is quite dominant. Guess I sort of knew that. I'm exclusively right handed, follow instructions well, but have difficulty creating something original (being creative). Thanks for the quiz, Kay.

Carol, I am also slightly dyslexic, and I never realized it fully till I started drawing, and I would draw things completely backwards, it has helped me a great deal to draw..

I am the same as Ernest and slightly more right brained, which again is interesting as I am a Registered Nurse and we are supposed to be practical left brainers too.

But I am also mildly dyslexic and if I see something wrong the first time I will continue to see it wrong until someone points out in detail where I am got it wrong.......bizarre really.

I used to be dyslexic, but I had to give it up because I couldn't spell it.

It is saying what I already knew, I know I'm a very rational person (almost neurotic), but I didn't know it was this extreem. Now I know why my mother keeps telling me to keep on singing and painting 'to keep in touch with my feelings and intuition'. She also always blames my cold feet and hands to the fact that I live primarily rational in my head and kind of ignore the rest that 'hangs on the other end of my neck'. -> saying she doesn't believe that there really flows blood through the rest of my body.

This nice test gave me a little warning to spend more time concentrating on my feelings.

I have often wondered about the right brain theory in a dyslexic person.. Guess I could Google that question.. I too have a backwards sort of problem but tend to solve it by turning my painting upside down as I do when I read .. I find reading most difficult with the form of dyslexia I have .. I read the words but I don't absorb them .. so, my doctor suggested that I read the words by turning them upside down for 10 minutes then return the page right side up and magically I could see what I was reading.. worked every time. I mirror write at times but not so much as I reached adulthood.. Math .. OMG that was my biggest struggle. I have some friends who have tried to get me in to this Square Dancing class.. I had to laugh .. I would totally throw everyone off.. They'd all go right and I'd be going left.. Nope don't think I'll be doing the frog in the Blender act with them.. I'll fly solo..

I got 65%, so my mind is slightly right dominant, which is about right as I've always been arty and lose myself in it, but I do have a tendency for detail and things in their place. When I'm drawing or especially painting though, my studio looks a bomb site, lol.

I never picked up a pencil until a few days before I joined this site. And then I drew with a crossword puzzle pencil. I didn't even know there were different pencils. I have an extremely busy life so I draw as I can squeeze in a line and usually have 2 easels set up and a couple smaller sketch pads laying around in case I have time to draw a line or two.. Maybe that's my left brain. Or maybe I am just scatter brained.

Well I'm new in this site and this is my first reply.
I'm left handed and it is said that I'm probably using my right brain more. (According to the scientific researches about left handedness)
And this quiz showed me that I'm %75 right brained! It was an interesting experience:)

I was 55% so both halfs are supposed to work equally I too am slightly dyslexic and have always wondered about the link between being dyslexic and being able to draw. It would be interesting to do a straw poll to find out how many of us here see themselves as being dyslexic.

My score 75%, so quite right oriented in the brains. On the other hand I seem to be a perfectionist (I prefer to be realistic), so my left never agrees with my right brain. As a consequence I do not show much of my trials because I never find them good enough to share. I am not dyslectic, but perhaps a split personality?

Not left-handed, not dyslexic, just really bad at math and too afraid of failing to attempt most of my artistic ideas!

By the way, (just to blurt out my thoughts in a right brained sort of way), why does being rude and hurting people's feelings about their work have to be right-brained? I found the wording of that particular question interesting, because it seems to me that I know so many of the most wonderful right brained people who would not dream of being critical or hurting anyone. I'm happy to be a cat loving right brained person, but don't get me wrong, I'm not dissing left brained dog people either!
