Hi B,
Great lesson. I think it's a good idea to copy the masters and study them. But this is often challenging to do, perhaps because they and their style is so far removed from us in time. At any rate, your structured lesson provides a way to not only learn the admirable and copyable skills of Leonardo, but it also gives some clues to how to go on and study others. I hope you follow up and do more lessons like this one--Sargent comes to mind.

Thanks too for the encouraging website. What a great idea. Pretty unique too. And generous!

P.S. Last year, 2005, I drew 1000 drawings, about 6 a day (most of them tough stuff, figures or figure-related) and was very happy and a bit surprised at how much my drawing accuracy improved. And with the increased skill comes solid confidence! I did this partly because I wanted to add people now and then to my watercolors. I add this not to "toot my horn" but to encourage any who may read this to practice. Practice really works, but it does take some time, it's not overnight, but it's worth it!
