Hi Everyone,

I am so pleased to be here and to have discovered this site.

I am basically a no-hoper but I plod along, and whenever I hit a low patch I look at the work of others here and I see what can be achieved.

JD Hillberry was my inspiration and still is, so if you read this, good things to you fella, and the drawing lessons here show me the way, so good things to all you contributers too.

I havent posted any work yet, basically everything I do I consider to be rubbish, but one day I hope to meet at least some of my expectations. In the mean time, I fill up my sketch books and suffer.

Kind regards and best wishes to all

Brian

Welcome!

One pattern I've noticed already in my short time here is that everyone here is their own worst critic, and most people think other people's work is better than their own. I suspect there are many pairs of people each of whom think the other is better than themselves.

So don't be so hard on yourself. Show us some of your work and I guarantee you'll get some appreciation -- and also help if you want it!

biggrin.gif Welcome to Drawspace, Brianm. I totally agree with Ernest. We are our own worst enemies when it comes to our personal art. I know there are many people on here way better than I, but it just makes me want to improve that much more. I also, LOVE sharing my work with others and getting opinions that I think will help me learn to be an even better artist. I think I am achieveing my goal. If you don't believe me, go the the General Discussion Threads under Portraits 101. Look at page 15 from the beginning to the end of page 16 and you will see how much of an insperation this site is when it comes to helping others. Anything you have questions for someone is always around to help. Its a great site for learning and a great site for making friends. I really hope you enjoy it here as all of us others do. Again, Welcome to Drawspace. wub.gif
