I thought I should start an ATC HOST thread..If you are interested in hosting a trade simply sign up here..Sue will be handling may-june,
so I am going to start with June..The host gets to choose the subject for the month so get creative..it will be fun. Hosting consists of taking names on the list for members joining and compiling an address list to send out after all is signed up, and checking the thread to see if any help is needed. No need to be shy, I will be here and so will others that will be happy to help if needed..just let me know which month you are interested in hosting..If something comes up and you cant host your chosen month, no prob, I will jump in
may-june= Sue (Bigs)
June-July=kay (oliverandjazz)
July-August =Sue (Bigs)
August-September=Shanna (Ladylee)
Sept-Oct=Sandy (NCGirl)
Oct- Nov=tania (TaniaBee)
Nov-Dec

I know that i'm hosting in Oct/Nov - but any idea on the exact date - or do i just wait until the previous host is finished??
Just asking so that i can plan ahead and diarise it.

yep, you wait until the trade before you is complete, then you start yours..You will do great!

How about if the previous host PMs the next one to say their trade is "closed" and that it's time to start the next one? Or post something on the thread?
oliverandjazz
Aug 20 2009, 02:40 PM
that would be perfect!

For keeping track of when our start dates are, I was thinking that we should take the time to add in the exact dates in this thread. Adding a week to the sign-up time has thrown the start dates even further off, so if we have them pre-planned, it could help some people decide when they might like to try their hand at hosting.
I personally prefer the one week sign-up time, but if we keep the two weeks, and start and end on Sundays, my dates would be Sept 13-26 for sign-up, and Sept. 27-Oct 24 for creation/posting. The next one would be the six weeks after that, etc. I don't know if this is helpful or annoying, but hopefully the former!
oliverandjazz
Aug 30 2009, 04:04 PM
sounds good shanna, I prefer the one week sign up. I think sue only did that this trade to give everyone a chance to collect 'past' trade cards. to give everyone a chance to 'catch up' so to speak.

Aug 30 2009, 04:31 PM
Ok, that was certainly kind of her to do, especially considering that I was one of the offenders! Put back to five weeks each, my dates would then be Sept 13 to Oct. 17, and the next Oct. 18 to Nov. 21. Like I said, just a suggestion, not a request. I don't always have time to check the forum or even my emails, so I prefer set dates, but I still like the idea of a reminder pm from the previous host.

I can't wait to know what's the next theme so I can get started. The 60's theme was a little hard for me, I had to do alot of research but it was still alot of fun. I hope I represented the 60's well enough.

Yes! Kay has now moved to the UK and is living in my spare room. Kim is considering her selection as a Senator, and wondering what the fringe benefits will be! Sue and Carol have clubbed together and bought Alaska and several parts of Canada. (The bit's nobody wants) Trish is having trouble with her new Space Suit, and probably needs a size smaller to get into the shuttle comfortably. Apart from that? Nothing at all.

Nice to see you again.

well after reviewing my postion as Senate I learned who I would have to be working with .. so guess what steve ...I am packed and moving in with you !!! me and kay are like two pees in a pod so you wont even notice the extra mouth to feed lol
Now about the next trade ....are we having sign up be for two weeks ? this last one I think was long ..now it is like a waiting game on the next trade .

not complaining just wondering .

We need some time for art! Three women, seven days, a weekend isn't a bad offer? I'll need to put in extra hours to keep you lot! Especially Kay, have you seen her art materials bill?

Ok everyone, since I have been contacted to ask why I have not started the next trade, I am letting you all know, I have it all ready to post, just waiting for the word go, and I assume it will be after the official end date of Sue's 60's trade. I know we are artists, probably mostly not mathematicians, but 5 or 6 weeks at a time for a trade do not work out to a trade every month, lol.
Sue had posted her end date as September 15, I could start it right after that, or I could start a little earlier. I was thinking the dates I had posted earlier in this thread. Let me know. The topic has been hinted at in the 60's thread!

I think we can start the next one now. I'm pretty sure everyone is done now, I'm usually like the last one anyways. Well not all the time but anyways. I can't wait to know what's the next subject even with the clue I wasn't exactly sure what it was.

Sep 11 2009, 11:24 AM
shanna, i think it would be best to wait for the day Sues trade ends at least. that is the 15th, that way no toes are stepped on and everyone has their cards in the mail for sure.
Ladylee
Sep 11 2009, 02:50 PM
Thanks Kay, that's kind of what I was thinking. I know it's hard to wait when you are all done your cards, but there are always those that need a few days to recover from the last one too. So we start on the 15th for sign-up, and end it on the 21st. Then do you think we should end the draw/post time mid-week, exactly 28 days later? Or can we get away with ending it on Oct. 17, a Sunday?

Ok, I know that here where I live in Canada, it is still almost an hour until the 15th, but I have a busy day tomorrow, so I'm posting now! I hope people like the topic I chose. It is narrower than some, but could turn out some really interesting results I think.

Hi Tania - I'll be hosting in October, starting on the 17th or 18th I think. I was thinking last week I wouldn't be able to do it, but I'm rearranging some things and will go ahead and host. So your hosting would start around the middle of November, does that sound right? I've got a topic selected already, if you want, I'll pm it to you so we can make sure we don't have the same one. You must keep it secret though!

Well you are in luck! The next trade starts this Sunday and I am the host. The theme will be set at that time and you will have a week or so to decide if you want to sign up. Then all you have to do is draw and trade. I'm pretty new to the ATC's and it's a blast! I hope you will join in my trade!
