Hi all

,
I am your host for this months ATC swap.........please check out the thread on hosting for available dates if you want to try your hand.........as I am finding out its not too hard.
This month's theme is "Childhood" .......think of things you loved as a child.......children themselves......games.......fun fairs......or even just utterly childish whims. Whatever takes your fancy that you can link (however tenuously

) with childhood.
Sign up starts from now and closes in 7 days on the 28th May. We then have a month to finish our cards and post them out......that's by the 28th June. Please consider whether you will be able to meet those deadlines when you sign up.
For those who are just tuning in ...this is a art card exchange .....done in any medium, No computer art or printouts, ...the size must be that of a trading card, 2.5 x 3.5 inches........please stick to the theme and most of all have fun!
Please understand if you commit to doing the exchange you must finish all cards and get them out by the dead line of June 28th.......if you fail to do so you may not be allowed to join other trades in DS .
If you don't think you can make it this time........join us in the thread admiring the cards and having fun with us.................. and join to play with us next time.
As you sign up, please pm to me your postal address so that we can get the list out to everyone as soon as sign up is finished, If you joined the last 3 art trades I should still have your address.
Thanks Kay for keeping the Swaps going and setting up the Swap Roster for hosting.

I will drop by. I started first year Spanish class in college, and it's spring term (which is to say condensed with more hours per week than regular terms), so I'm pretty busy busy studying espaƱol. LadyLee says she wants in on this one though....
She'll likely sign in soon.

whew, I don't see a post that says Jazz is signing up. I just accidentally signed up for this on his account, but I must not have hit enter. Once again, whew! Anyway, I'm absolutely signing up for this one, I have an easy week for my last one before summer, just a picnic and grad with the 4 yr olds. I loved so many things as a child, I'm really looking forward to this topic.

Oh, shoot, apparently I put it in the wrong topic. That wasn't Jazz, it was me, and he still doesn't want in.

WOW we have 10 people already.....
Click to view attachment.......we are going to have a great swap!
Shanna - great that you are playing - and there are so many things that you can do I already have so many ideas written down......its just a matter of whether I can translate what I se in my mind to paper! Easier said than done!!
No problems
Jazz I knew you weren't joining...........I have always tossed up between Spanish and Italian - but I so far away from the University now, where the institute of Modern Language is that I'd have to find somewhere much closer. I know a little Italian already (I can swear quite well

). Italian would be great , but there are so many countries that speak Spanish........ Still undecided. Good luck with it Ciao!!

Azuu, can you please PM me your address so I have it for the final posting list?
This is great....so many people wanting to play in this one!! I have already done about 10 cards....it has been so wet with the rain & floods that I have been drawing a lot more. Not sure if I will use those or do more and have a choice of what to send.

As much as I like to join, I think I sit this one out. I'm very busy with my bachelor thesis (deadline on 28th of June also), and I rather join the next ATC swap in July when I have more freetime. I like to make my first ATC a succesfull one, without spoiling it with time pressure.
I like the theme!

I gives a lot of possibilities.
Good luck everybody with making the cards! I'm looking forward to seeing the results and will keep an eye on this topic.

YAAAY!! this one is shaping up to be a great swap too..I started the host list sue, but alas, you guys are stuck with me

next trade
It is nice to see some new faces, welcome to you new traders. I must warn you it can be addicting
sue where do you get your smilies?? I want some of those too please..I shall like to learn how to put them here. I know ppl have tried to show me before, I can be a lil thick..but i usually get it eventually.

hmm..come to think of it, I asked if we could have a few more smilies and it seems they took some away
instead.

I think so anyway, it seems I remember a few more than what is there now...maybe not.

i sure enjoyed our last ATC .Can I be included in the Children topic. Kay always said do your best and enjoy your self.Considering it was my first trade and the fact I'm new at drawing I hope no one was too disappointed with their piece of art.I haven't learned how to show the cards in this forum. The cards I received were placed in my gallery.Sorry about that. There also was a talking moose in my group of cards.Actually I thought he was sort of cute!I hope he finds a mate because I've noticed he can be quite noisy.Oh yes he has rather LARGE ears joanna

I have been working on mine the last two days. I have 8 finished. I'm doing a theme inside the Childhood theme. Concentrating on one particular part of my childhood. So far they are turning out just fine.
Hope everyone will have fun with this one. And we like all art no matter the ability. That's how everyone grows. These are for learning in a fun way. Each one a person does helps you grow and builds up the confidence. I learn from just about every card I receive.
Most of what I have learned has come from forums and getting involved with activities. At first I was intimidated but found everyone so very helpful and friendly. And I have made a lot of artist friends and many who have become lifelong friends I will always have contact with.

Kay, I just Googled free emoticons and checked out a few sites - there are some where you can click on and individual emoticon and save it to a file. I just go then "Add Reply" instead of a quick one and upload the emoticon like I would a pic, add it where I want and it works fine. Have fun hunting and beware the sexy emoticon!
Glad that you can join us Kim, Joanne, and Sveta! The more the merrier.......I can't wait to see what people do for this swap.
We have 16 people now! This is shaping up to a great swap!!

Hello,
I am sorry to be ignorant, but can you tell me please how many cards we will be making. I would love to participate in an exchange but just am not sure what it will entail.
Thanks.
Jangra
May 26 2009, 09:57 PM
Rainy you will have to do as many as sign up. You can check the beginning post at the top of this page. I think so far there are 16 but still time for others to sign up. That would be 15 so far to make and mail and a month to do them.

That's right the sign up ends 28th May, which is tomorrow here but I will end it late friday afternoon which (Aussie time about 6pm) should take care of the time difference with the States (where a lot of folk are) plus a little extra time but who's counting!
Then I hopefully will have the list out to you all the next day. But when I close off I will post the final number of participants and list of names on the front page of this thread. Is that OK with everyone?
I am just trying to make it fair to all wherever you are across the Dateline.
