those are so great kim, they did indeed come from your trinket box..I love them..I really dont have anything from when i was a child so i shall have to go by memory and look stuff up. one year dad bought us all the same present boys and girls, we all got a b.b./ pellet gun and a red wagon..
I was always interested in guitar and i got one for christmas one year and the trailer burned down by new years with everything in it..I got a bicycle too one year, it was on the porch i rode it one day, and someone stole it..
anyhoot..those are awesome cards kim.

Hi, a quick question. I love looking at all the cards everyone posts. Hopefully when all the crazy running around business ends in this house I can join in too. Right now I need to focus on other things, artistically and otherwise. Here is the question however silly it might sound. When you say May 28th is one of the deadlines do you mean a deadline to sign up, and then you have till June 27th to submit the cards?
Mariya.
oliverandjazz
May 28 2009, 02:06 AM
that is correct my dear, you have 1 week for everyone to join..at the end of the week the sign up closes..then we put them all in the mail by the deadline date ..hope to see you join soon..A month gives everyone plenty of time to complete and collect their cards.

OK - I'M IN!!
I'm a bit nervous because i've never done this before and i'm not 100% sure how it all works.
But if i'm guided in the right direction... i'll do it!
This may also seem like a silly question/s, but i just want to know:
1) Can we use ANY medium or paper and can we variate different mediums between the different cards?
2) Please can you explain the posting - where or who do we post it to?
Thanks for the help and can't wait to see everyone's stuff.
Lovies,
Tania

hello there, welcome to the trade,
any paper is fine so long as it is 2.5x3.5 inches, alot of us use bristol or watercolor paper cause it is sturdy but the choice is yours.
You have to put them in the mail by the deadline posted on the first page (sorry cant remember it) and wait for yours to arrive, at closing sue will get an address list out to all of us..you can post your finished cards here online at any time you wish.
I hope that helps

Thanks for passing on the info Kay.
Tania....don't hesitate to ask any questions that you need to. We are all here to help new folk. I have sent ATC's, that stands for Artists Trading Cards, in pastel, acrylic, watercolour, ink, graphite and coloured pencil. You use whatever medium you want. The only thing that I suggest to people is to pop them in a small ziplock bag to protect them. We may careful, but there is no way to know that postman wont drop it in a puddle and I think it would be heartbreaking to know that a small piece that you put your heart & soul into was ruined like that.
I'm adding you to our list Tania!
Mariya, if you are too busy this month to join, keep popping in and have a look at what happens ina swap and then sign up for the topic for next month's swap if you like. But if you do feel that you can get the cards out before the deadline in a month's time then please PM me your details so I can add you to our happy group.

Thanks, Jeanne. . . I'm just getting back to drawing after being away for three or four months. . . don't think I can do 18 that quick. Some of you are really on the ball, posting them already. I hope you will have a smaller trade soon as I'd like to start slower I think so I can be sure I'll make the committment.

OK Folks,
I am closing the swap sign up and
Carmen has just squeaked in

.......just waiting now for her address.
We have 18 people in total - so that is 17 cards the we each need to make and post.
Please those who are new don't feel intimidated by the speed demons around here. Some of us just get on a roll and when that happens you can do a number quite quickly.
Most of you new swappers will feel like we all did when we started.........you will want every card to be perfect, and will sweat over each one and not relax until they arrive at their new home. While its hard to tell you to relax, just remember you are among friends here - none of us are perfect and we don't expect to receive perfection...........just send work that you are proud of. And you have until 28th June to get them out!
Now have fun!

Hi all
I have sent the list of addresses out, but had problems with the way I wrote some usernames so I completely forgot to add my message to the top........
sorry was not being rude.
Please check that your address and details are correct and PM me if there are any changes I need to make so that I can let everyone know.
Also
Carmen (casiterapi), I got a message saying that you did not want to receive Board Messsages.......that means I cannot PM the list to you. Its probably just that you ticked the wrong box - could you either fix that or PM me your email address if you prefer to be contacted that way and I will send you the addresses so you can mail your cards.
Thanks

It's not that we are in a hurry. Just that we got started and didn't quit. It brought back so many nice memories we couldn't stop. The more looking at things on the net, the more characters I remembered. I could probably have done 10 or more additional ones.
Richie Rich, Archie, Betty, Veronica, Chip n Dale, Casper Henry, Dick Tracey, Baba Louie, Doggie Daddy, Brutus, Little Lotta Pepe Le Peau, Tom and Jerry, Booboo Bear and the Ranger.
I dont' remember Mr Bill. Since I married a Bill you would think I'd remember.
I have done two childhood memories trades now and between the both of them, I didn't think of homemade ice cream. And that was a very nice memory.

Hi!
Today, 1 June, we celebrate Children's Day.
I thought that our ATC swap is in the right time.
Yesterday I make my first little art drawings and I like this.
I measured, I have drawn lines (where to cut) , then I drew.
I got cut after that.
I thought it is easier that way.
Thanks Sue for the idea of childhood cards.
It is a good exercise to remember about the child I was and about beautiful things.
Happy Birthday!
to all of your inner child, the child you have been, or still are:D

Thanks Sue, got the addresses this time OK. I've done most of mine of UK children's book, cartoon or TV characters, so most of them won't be familiar to you people in 'foreign parts'! Still, I've enjoyed doing them. I've been using my new set of Inktense pencils for them. They are great - the colours really come to life when you add water.

Sorry everyone have just sent you all an update on Tania Bee's address - please let me know if you didn't get it.
Great looking cards Carol!!
Glad you are having fun Carmen!
Ooh!! Does that mean we'll be getting Bill & Ben the Flowerpot Men, Andy Pandy, oh and Doogle from the Magic Roundabout?? We might even see Noddy and Big Ears and Mr. Plod!! Oh I am looking forward to yours Norma!! And I just thought of all the older children's books by Enid Blyton's as well.........Five in a Fix etc....... I loved all the adventures! When We Were Very Young...........perhaps ......my absolute favourite that book of poems:
"James James
Morrison Morrison
Weatherby George Dupree...."
"Ernest was an elehant, a great big fellow,
Leonard was a lion with a six foot tail,
George was a goat, and his beard was yellow,
And James was a very small snail......"
Oh I love them all!! ANd to think I can still recite half of them!
