Hey Everyone smile.gif. I am a new member of the site and first off wanted to say I love it! I am looking forward to meet everyone here and connect. I was just curious what your inspirations are? What inspires you to draw and the reasons why you draw the things that you do smile.gif.
My main inspiration is mostly my Father, he taught me a lot about enjoying life and admiring the smallest as well as the biggest things and to appreciate everything as much as I can, he really inspires me to draw and follow my mind and ideas with great support,
Any other inspirations?

Thanks everyone xxXxx

Hi Tim, welcome to the site,i dont get inspired to draw,i tend to capture what is around me,what is happening in my life at any particular time, for me drawing is an emotional journey, interacting with my environment. Keep on following your mind and ideas, your father is a very clever man.

I am not sure what really inspires me ...I draw when I need to relax ...I like to challenge myself ..I have been drawing for as long as I remember ..its like it is very natural for me ..a part of my life ...not just something to do that I am pretty good at .

My inspiration is... well, everything. My latest drawing is a jaguar I found in an older edition of a national geographic. They tend to have some pretty good pictures. Movies can be good places to look, too. Songs, friends, stories, music videos, the mountains and the beach inspire me as well.

Hello and Welcome :-)

My main inspiration came from my mum. I grew up with an artsy mum who was always painting or drawing. She used to draw the most beautiful horse sketches in about 15 minutes and they looked so life like I would just sit in awe.

My Nan is also a great inspiration to me with her cake dec and crafts, she is so talented herself. It was great to grow up in an artsy family.

My inspiration to draw probably came first from my Dad. He was into drafting when I was young, and he had this nice drafting table with the soft brush to brush away eraser particles, and cool mechanical pencils. I'd request for him to draw me something, and voila, so quickly he scribbled out lovely flowers, dogs, birds. It made me see that anyone can draw if they try.

Then both of my older brothers got into art during high school. One was more into fantasy with airbrushing, while the other leaned toward realistic animals and dragons in graphite and colored pencil. They both gave it up soon after high school. I never believed I could have their level of talent until just a couple years ago when I found myself inspired, and for lack of anything better to draw, I sketched my own legs as I reclined on the couch. Since then have found that with just a little effort and a lot of practice, anything is possible!

Hi, Tim. Welcome to the site! smile.gif I am especially encouraged by the work of other artists. I see someone's pictures and immediately begin to search for objects to an image. And I was beginning to draw randomly. In my family no one has to art in no way affiliated. As a child, I drew a lot, but no one take this seriously, and I am too. And then, when I was 11 years old, my girlfriend went to art school. This led. No special facilities, I did not end, but I was curious. This interest in me until now. He made it stronger, then weaker, sometimes completely disappears. But he always comes back again. smile.gif Perhaps in this I still have at least some paint.

P.S. - sorry for my grammar... blush.gif

I don't know what inspires me, sometimes I see a picture I really like, and want to draw. But usually I just feel like drawing and try to find something to draw.

I have many inspirations. One of my major inspirations is the meere fact of life itself. Just looking around taking in the daily activities trying to think of the movements people create or the way certain things react the way they do. Just soaking in all thats around me the atmosphere the overall tone of things the feeling that is outside i suppose? Not only this but the raw emotion of people around me. That is the HUGEST factor. Somthing about strong emotion just gets at me you know?

Then my next inspirations is just the sheer ideals of creation. Sitting down with a blank sheet of paper as i watch it develop into somthing else is a great inspiratoin (although on some projects that last longer then others i need music to help me tone out everything around me so i can get more focus'd in my art). Alot of times most of my artwork doesnt get its Best effects from what i intend. Ill just draw a flower then accidently start drawing a hand so then i continue the hand anyway and then sooner or later it turns into something MUCH MORE then just a flower. I guess i let my hands do the drawing as for i am meerly on a ride? biggrin.gif

Then somtimes i get inspired by others and there acomplishments. If i see an artist take a new medium and do wonderful things with somtimes that makes me say WOW THAT LOOKS LIKE FUN. So i just go grab that medium and random other things and just let it pour.

Another inspiration. MOVIES!!!! Cinematics. Just the rawr power of the motion and all the emotions combined with storylines and so on and so forth. It is just breathtaking. So somtimes i like to sit back grab the deepest emotions of my past expierences. Grab the feeling as when i had them, then just start drawing. Somtimes the deep deep emotion that i recreate translate to my art. Somtimes it doesnt, but when it does OH HOW I LOVE THE OUTCOME.

My last inspiration for art. Is sharing it with others. Without having somone to share my work with. I would be nothing biggrin.gif

Hi,
I'm pretty new here too. This is the greatest site! I absolutley love it. My inspiration comes from lots of different things. My pets, my mom (she passed away five years ago), my husband, my grandchildren, nature. I try to take a camera with me when I go out so if I see something that inspires me, I can get it on film.
