Anyway. Hello everyone! I just found out about this site a few days ago and have been drawing non-stop for the past few days. I've always loved to draw and it's great to have a chance to improve my skills and learn new techniques in a huge community.
I uploaded a few recent sketches in my gallery, all done with graphite pencils. please tell me what you think about them and how I can improve
One of the problems I have is my shading technique. I'm reasonably happy with the way the shapes and proportions turn out but when it comes to shading them I mess it up. I try to hatch, crosshatch etc but I end up using my eraser a lot and having to shade it again. Eventually everything just turns into a blurry grey smudge and I loose a lot of the highlights.
