I know there are so many to choose from but I think the best part for me, the challenges, whether or not I participate, I just love seeing so many ppl do the same picture..how each is handled in each medium. I think that is my real favorite part

I think the best thing about Drawspace is the Lady who created it. When I see what goes on at drawspace I think of the generousity and creativity of Brenda. I've never met her in person but I feel I know her, and she is an inspiration to me, not only as an awesome artist but as an example of a human who understands the art of life.

Though it's really hard to choose, I think the best thing is all the great people here who give wonderful critique and inspiration.

I have to agree with Bobby. What Brenda offers with her lessons to all of us and the opportunity to take classes with great teachers is amazing to me. What a giving person to enrich so many lifes. I also enjoy reading the forums and especially the critiques of others works really is a learning experience.

Click to view attachmentI love Drawspace. I love the galleries of folks work. I love the drawing lessons. Most of I love the people. Everyone is so supportive. I am probably my own worst critic and everyone so far has been so kind. It makes me feel like my work is good. I haven't really looked at the challenges yet. In time.

I love the way everyone encourages one another, no matter how much the experience, or lack of. 35 years ago I put my pencil down and didnt pick it back up until last year because I was told art was nothing and it would get me nowhere. A certain craft fair with an artist drawing caught my interest..and brought back the desire to pick up that pencil and learn..so strongly. I began to believe in myself again that I could do it after I found this place by chance and I am so glad I did..Thank you all!

Follow your heart Katdyd,, never let someone or anything take away how it feels when you create something.. It's yours and no one else's.. In all your life you will always find a few that don't appreciate but you will find many many more who do.. If you love what you do it will show..

I love the Challenges! I just Love seeing peoples different takes on a reference.
I also love the general forums; because there is a lot of people to answer certain questions that may boggle you about art

For me the best thing about the drawspace is the feeling that I'm a part of something big. I admire the works of all of you and the fact that I can be a part of a group of such talented and great people makes me feel I'm special too

I would have to reiterate all that has been said before. Thanks to Brenda for providing this wonderful learning environment and social network. I participate in several art websites, this is by far, the one I feel at home in. The friends I have made, from all over the world were, and still are, a great comfort to me as I struggle with my "new life" after my husband's death. I feel blessed to be in the company of so many caring and talented people. I look forward to the challenges, they always are, well, a challenge to me. I get to try my skills (or lack thereof) on many different subjects and enjoy the feedback you all so willingly and generously give me. I can't leave out the ATC swaps! They make it so much more personal, getting and sending art to folks around the world. I would really be lost without Drawspace in my life.
Regards to all,
Trish

The best part of drawspace for me would have to be the drawing lessons, because I searched many web pages for beginning drawing and drawspace is the only one that has truly helped me with it. I want to thank the owner of drawspace for making this webpage, and for giving me the inspiration to continue drawing. Although I am not that great at it, I hope to achieve the success in my drawings as some of these other artist on this page
Thank you again
Laurie

It's moments like this when you come from the mailbox and the card are here from a trade. It really doesn't which one! This one is bird .They are beautiful tiny ,dainty birds and so far that is all .I do birds to the Best of my ability but just birds must be wrong ,surly the topic was all around birds.Get where I'm going? The last was childhood so guess what we start to get is cartoons.Well I'm lost because if I knew I could do cartoons that would have made my life much easier.I can draw cartoons pretty good because we had that other challenge.I was drawing my childhood so maybe that's why I never hit a duplicate card. I personally love what I've done and I think that the trade people are not grumbling. To me they are the best. They expect no less than what Level I should be up to.So that is my test but it is a kind test. When someone says what they liked ,then I an really happy.I happen to do a skipping card cause what else do you do in rural Manitoba.Well she writes (Kim)I especially liked the lamp.Well I happened to spend a little extra time getting that lamp right!! Well she commented on it.Small for her but big for me.In a couple of years I'll be doing the adult card. You know those perfect butts and boobs!!That would be St Patrick day. .We will be up to 40 cards so thats 80 tits and 80 *****.I really don't talk like that but, oh well.........I really love you all and to think of what Brenda started with that book and I found it.I don't think my husband will ever forgive her Joanna

Ah, I'm a ginger pussycat.
Actually, I don't post images of myself online (in fact I like to keep behind the camera generally). I'll post a picture as soon as I'm 6 inches taller, 50 pounds lighter, have grown more hair, and look 10 years younger.
Think
Homer Simpson rather than
Brad Pitt or
George Clooney, and you'll have a fair idea what I look like
