It's me again. I hope these are not as difficult as some of the others were.

Number one is Shanna, this is Shonda's older sister.

Number two is one I took when I was at my doctor's clinic.

Number three is a snow scene with an old shed.

Number four is our dog Windy.

Have fun.

I just couldn't resist this one. I've been wanting to sketch it for several years. I think this is the first snow scene I've ever sketched. I've painted a few but not many.

I recognized Shanna right off. biggrin.gif

There's just one thing to remember about trees and limbs. They keep getting smaller as they fork. biggrin.gif

but that drawing looks like it would be as much work as the wheelchair blink.gif
with the woodgrain, and all
BRB
I spent a way too long on this one for it to be a simple line drawing. These are harder than they look! biggrin.gif

That's Windy alright! You can hardly ever see both eyes and most of the time you can't see either one. My wife combs it back out of her eyes and she will use her paws to pull it back down. Lol.

My attempt at the barn winter scene...I've never attempted any outdoor type scenes. I have always limited myself to animals cartoons etc etc so therefore this was a true "challenge" for me .As I was drawing I kept noticing more and more things that were in the background which really started to detract from what I was doing. So I consulted the Masters smile.gif Rose, Kim and Bob smile.gif to find out what their focus was with their drawings....boy do I ever need serious practice.

I think your drawing is very good first effort. When you paint or draw scenes from nature like this you have to edit somethings out, like limbs and things in the back ground. You can also change things to make the composition better.

Brian David and darus67,,sorry for the misunderstanding!! It is a photograph I took just for that post. blush.gif
I grayscale it and then ran it though Paint.net's Pencil sketch program.Didn't mean to confuse anyone ,,just playing around.

I started to realize that after I was well into it being bogged down by minute details and getting increasingly frustrated because I would see more and more. Thanks for the pointers it really helps . smile.gif Next one will be better.

Hi everyone!
It is really so good to see all your drawings - however. wub.gif

But first:
Bob -
Thank you so much for this winter scene photo. It is an excellent exercise in negative drawing and it was totally fun to draw! (Btw - I always love your landscape photos)

I never have got a good result with negative drawing but now I think at long last I figured it out.

Okay - here it is. [attachmentid=4160] As always with some little differences to the photo - "artistic freedom. wink.gif

Wow! All those sketches are great! You guys are soo good. I used to draw all the time when I was younger but I haven't drawn in ages. So, I think I may feel a little self conscious about posting a sketch on here. :/

But I'll probably give it a try anyway.
