Here is something I thought I would share here.I don't know why I start these dark drawings.Punishment for pass,present and future sins I guess.Don't know how much more time I'll put in it until I scrap it.I can alway blame it on =the scanner,bad paper,the weather or the dog ate it,,,any way enjoy it if you may, C&C if you wish!! This is looking very good Ted. From the word go this person looks like he has character and depth.

And thank you for posting this here. I wish we would all start doing it because we can all learn from each other. It seems like the forums are dying... or at least there is certainly more activity and debate going on in the gallery than the forums themselves.

Ted, I think everyone in the world knows Johnny Cash.
I myself know music from US better than music from Germany. And classic country is known very well here.
I prefer other music, but "Ring of fire" or "Walk the line" I like too. And I know that he made some prison albums. and some movies or series like columbo (Swansong was this Columbo serial called here)

And I must say your portrait of this legend is great.

When you sent me the picture email I didn't really know what to say that would be of value, being that I hadn't seen the reference photo. Personally, the drawing is much too dark for my taste. I didn't draw Barry White that dark, lol.

But, now that I see the finished, or should I say nearly finished, I can say it is looking good. Maybe the darkness helps create the mood you were going for. You've got a very good likeness.

The reference picture is from the cover of Oct.16 2003 Rolling Stone.So that is why I don't post it.It was dark,but I went darker and change a few other thing too,,so it would not be a copy of their picture.
