Hi everyone,
My name is Jean Claude, 33, brazilian. I am System Analist and photographer. I've been doing my PhD in Germany for 3 years.

I've been trying to paint something with acrylics, but I realized that I have to improve my drawings. I would like to work mainly with drawing of people, portraits, body expression, etc.

I found the drawspace and thought it could be the perfect soluction for me. The only problem ist that I am an absolut beginner.

Congratulations you all for your works and this amazing website!

Passt auf euch auf!
Macht es gut!

Hi Jean,

welcome to the best drawspace of all. wink.gif smile.gif

I've learned a lot here too. and - the very very important reason for being here - all people are very kind, helpful and encouraging. especially for a beginner.

Show what you draw and everyone will give kind and helpful advice. I made this experience and never want to miss this forum here.

Greetings from Germany to Germany. *laughing*

Thanks Martina. I am sure I am gonna learn a lot here. But I have to start drawing something first :-) so that I can have something to ask. My problem is that till now I have been the theory guy. I read lots of stuffs but did not draw anything.
I really have to change it.
Have a good night!
Grüße aus Darmstadt and many thanks again!

Welcome aboard. I'm a newbie myself. My 6th grade teacher told me I couldn't draw a stick figure if I tried for a week. So I quit trying for 50 some years. Then my teenage grandaugther fired me up and I'm trying.

Spent 3 years in Augsburg with US army.

smile.gif Welcome to Drawspace, Jean and Slim!! This really is a great site. I am sure you both will do wonderful work. The main thing is practice, practice and yet more practice. I like anything you learn the more you put in the more you put out. I hope to see the both of you participating over in some of the challenges in the general discussion area. Need anything all you have to do is ask. wub.gif

Hi Slim,
welcome to you too! Augsburg is a nice town, Inever have been there but it is a historical town so everybody here knows it. But surely not as good as you.
It is good that your granddaughter motivated you, I'm courious on your drawings that we will see in future.

Jean,

This was exactly what I did! *laughing* I think I've read more than twenty books about drawing and painting.
But Venus is so right - practicing is the best (and only way to learn) you can do, although you might think in the beginning the drawings are not so good.

When I came here I was full of fear to show what I've done, but all here are very very kind and warm.

But the main thing for all of us is:

Enjoy drawing!
SLIM
Traumsonne and Venus, I added 39 drawings last weekend. I guess the Cheetah is my best work so far, although I dearly like the dog Jack. I guess it is the bright colors. Going to try some tulips this week.
