I have four finished and got some really good photos today at my plein air outing. We went to the local living animal museum. They had the red-tailed haw and the Kestral out and being carried by a docent. Also got some of the roadrunner, a pelican, and a Canadian Goose.
Too bad I don't need one of a bear...or maybe I can put a bird on a bear...because I gor some good shots of the 2 bears. One was about 3 inches from him thru a window. He didn't like it and slapped the window where my camera was against it. I jumped. Noticed later that a couple feet away, the window was cracked on his side. Whew!

Wonderful drawings Tania - very colorful! I'm also drawing birds that are commonly found in (not necessarily native to) North Carolina. I recently learned that the outer banks of NC are a stopover or wintering ground for migrating birds from Canada, and many species have been introduced here too. My collection to send out will hopefully also include a bald eagle - endangered throughout the US for years, but has come back so strongly that they are now removed from the endangered list - and living in NC! I saw one last week - I was so surprised I nearly drove off the road!

They are beautiful!
I have finished 4 cards so far - I may pull one though, I am not happy with it at all. I'm not posting my drawings yet -don't want to scare anyone.

Jeanne .. The bird on a bear ,,Great idea.. I did a Zebra once with a little bird on his back.. How scary was that .. a cracked glass.. sounds like he meant business.. !!!

I did the Red Tailed Hawk and the Pelican too..
Got all of mine done .. just need to sign the backs and I'll be done.. I sort of got a head start when I found out early on about the subject.. Just didn't know how many to do.. I was almost right .. I guessed 16 from the previous trades.. we all kind of hang together ..

..
P.S. Tania GREAT BIRDS !!

Kay - are we supposed to label the backs of our cards? In my case, I thought it would be correct to put the species of the bird or title, my name of course, and the date. Is anyone listing the medium or anything like that?

If you could also include your bank details, card numbers and security pin, that would help immensely.

Steve it wouldn't do you any good to have my bank, cards, pin number and a map or even a ticket to town, no money in there to get. I'm joining the I M POOR group.

Steve - i laughed so loud here at work at your message about the bank details.
But as you said - Creative people are normally broke (as is my case...)
Anyway, thanks to all for the compliments - i only managed to do six because i got the gap, because the last time i left them until the last week and didn't want to be rushed again.

Thanks everyone. You may see more of that turqoise background. I really like it. Only problem is...it is Verithin brand and my pencil is only about 2 1/2 inches long and not able to buy more at this time. But I will use it again. The bluejay is on watercolor paper. That's why it looks rougher. But I love the poses the little bird gave me.

Guess what! I finished mine last night and, because I'll be away from home next week, I started putting them in envelopes to post this morning. Half way through, I realised I'd forgotten to scan them first. My grand daughter has blond moments and I'm afraid I had a senior moment. Anyhow, I'll go up to the village now to post them.

texaslady those are beautiful! I've earned a new appreciation for birds too since joining this ATC trade. I didn't know how many different species were making their home in my back yard. I've added a few new bird feeders to the long fence to see what shows up. So far a bunch of cardinals and some really mean blue-jays.
Ok...so are you guys telling me it's not Christmas yet?

Carol - your birds are gorgeous - wow!!
I know right - i kinda have this urge to book a safari and go bird watching - my mom actually has a bird on SA birds & at the back there is a section with all the names of each bird and the date it was sighted - what a great idea!!
Funnily enough my sister found a very tame parakeet this weekend which we have adopted as we presume it ran (or rather flew) away from home - my family is insistent i draw her

Anyway, i was very bad this weekend, i didn't do any cards... time just ran away with me and it's so cold here in SA - movies & hot chocolate was the order of the day - every day!!. i'm going to do a few more tonight
