Welcome to Snoopy 101 Cartoon Challenge

My name is Painter48 or Joanie, and I will be your host for a one week challenge. This is not a challenge against others - it is a challenge to yourself. It will be a 2 Part challenge.

The rules are simple. Graphite, Charcoal, Color pencils, Pen and Ink, Markers etc. Any medium is fine but no painting is allowed. If you use watercolor pencils, you must post the drawing first before adding water. You may use your computer to type in any words or letters but NO DIGITAL drawings allowed.

Sharpen your pencils.....................here's Part One

As you know, all cartoon characters are not human or even animals. This week your challenge is to draw two inanimate objects. They should compliment each other or create a theme or partnership with each other.

Walt Disney could make up the most awesome of these type of characters. Here are an example of 2 of them from Beauty and the Beast.

The Teapot and the Candelabra.

Here are a few items that could be used:
Chair and Table, Pencil and Eraser, Knife and Fork, Spoon and Fork, Paper and Scissors, Cup and Saucer, Sofa and Table, Socks and Shoes, Bacon and Eggs, Salt and Pepper Shakers - You get the idea now, I'm sure. wink.gif

OK here's Part Two:IPB Image

Now the two characters that you have made must interact with each other - preferably with a funny remark. Here's an example: Lets say you draw a Fork and Knife - the Fork could be saying to the Knife "why are you always cutting up?". Yep, its corny but its just an example.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask for help by posting on the threads or PM me at Painter48.

Most of all - just be silly and have some fun.

Great Idea Joanie ..cant wait to get started lol

Hey Joanie - you know I don't usually do cartoons... actually I really suck at them! blush.gif but I found the set up of this challenge rather interesting!

I've done my Part I - my characters are a brush and a pot of paint but I'm going to give them Maltese names.

So, Ladies & Gentlemen, meet Pinzellu & Patalott. biggrin.gif

Now for Part II - can I use the same drawings or do I have to draw them again?
painter48
Rose.....No, you don't have to draw them again, just think up something funny for them to say. thanks for participating, I know you don't usually do cartoons but they can be a good practice in contour drawing. Also a good way to de-stress over getting a likeness since they can be so loose. Can't wait to see more. wink.gif
Farfallina
Phewww!! Thanks Joanie. smile.gif To tell you the truth I was already trying to picture them in different poses taunting each other.

But perhaps this will do for now:

Way to go, Kim. This was kind of tough to come up with something funny. I think I might have made this too hard. It was easy to come up with the inanimate objects but hard to come up with something funny.

Your drawing is super. I like how you made the letters into characters. Isn't it funny how such a simple corny joke can be made into a cartoon and becomes even funnier? Who would have figured that? LOL
kim1963
I think you did a fine job with the challenge ... it makes you have to think ... HARD LOL
