smile.gif Ok here is my current project I am working on. I did the outline pretty dark and I am using watercolors and plan on using ink later for details. So if anyone has played around with this type of project before please feel free to give any advice what so ever. I have been going slow with this one because I need total concentration and no distractions (KIDS!!!!)...LOL. I know it looks kind of childish but its a present for a friend, a late birthday present. She loves dragonflies and I love butterflies, she is also my bestfriend so I decided to add both insects to the picture...I know mushy right? Ohh well what can I say. I love nature's beauty. wub.gif

Me too Venus, and I wish I could draw mother nature as good as you do. I love dragonflies very much and I am sure your friend will be totally happy!

This picture is going to get great.

biggrin.gif Thanks Everyone!!! Its very hard to paint with little feet always trying to steal the brushes!! So it is taking a bit of time. I can only do it between her naps and bedtime...grrrrrr!!!!
Venus
biggrin.gif Ok so today I got really lucky and the baby took an extremely long nap!! Yay me..LOL. So here is my picture with all of the watercoloring done. Next I will be doing the ink after she goes to bed or when I get gutsy and she is preoccupied..LOL

Beautiful!

biggrin.gif Thanks Everyone, for the compliments!! I really like this picture. I finally finished it now I am not sure I want to give it away..LOL. I think its sooo pretty. I added the ink to it using a little bottle of Sanford Design Higgins black ink. I did it the old fashioned way with a nib and nib pen holder. I also fotgot how hard it was to do details in ink!! I need to practice more but I still love the way it turned out. The scan didn't scan the whole picture and after 3 attempts of trying to get it all in I gave up. So feel free to tell me what you think. happy.gif

It looks really nice Venus. Quite different from your usual pictures by using the ink! I really like it. I've always liked pen and ink or pen and watercolors together. Good job.
Venus
biggrin.gif Thanks Joanie..It looks really dark though. I used my kodak program to enhance it and guess I wasn't really paying attention but when I went back over them and saw the two pictures next to each other I like it before I enhanced it. Its not as dark and you can see the details better. I original is just perfect though. happy.gif

This is it with no enhancements...

Very nice!

I think the use of mixed media has really worked well Venus.
Well done.
