I want to learn how to carve, starting with soap. It would be ideal for me just to have home made soap so I can customize sizes for practicing. Does anybody have any recipe's that I could follow with measures and such? Is there any good recipe that would be especially ideal for carving? Or does that make a difference? Thank you

Not sure this is the site for this sort of thing.. more about 2D art than 3d. However you may just want to google the term "Carving soap"

Then google "Making home made soap"

Me thinks a 24 pack of ivory soap would be sufficient to really give the sculpture thing a try and be a lot less work and $ than making your own soap.
Goog luck
