I promised to try 5 min self-portrait.

Didn't come out so well. Anyway, here it is. And no, my other half of head is not blond, time was up to finish it.
Click to view attachmentI like the look !!! you earned another 5 minutes ..

Carol I think you should put your 45 min. portrait up as your avatar. The one you have keeps mesmerizing me, it looks like a lady dancing.

probably the first challenge I do lol I took exactly 5 minutes now I just have to scan it if it works.
I think it's amazing, very very good likeness so quick. I myself have not tried a self port. I am too critical of my work and I don't think I would ever be happy with it.
I suppose I could try though.

Go back and read my Moody Blues stuff.. If I can make myself do it then surely you can too.. I think the idea is mostly to have fun and if ya hiccup just right you may actually learn something in the process.. I don't think 5 minutes is the magic number.. Do it fast as your comfortable with ..

Some great instant chicken's self-portraits here! Here are mine- don't know precisely 3, 4 or 5 minutes each. Didn't bother to measure. Lost more time to scan them.

Thank you, Steve. I won't tell which one I am - it's good to have you wondering.

How do you do this? Do you look in a mirror? Or take it from a photograph? I used a mirror, consequently, I'm looking down and am all scrunched up and showing a few too many chins for my liking! I'm sure I'm not that fat!

I have a mirror hanging on the wall in the corridor. Looking down would be difficult.

I'm supposed to be studying very hard right now, so don't tell my boyfriend.

Here is my 4 minute chicken

And here is my selfportrait. After 15 minutes a perfect example of how I
don't look

I used a picture to draw from, but it didn't work out that well. My eyes are drawn too big, the space between my nose and my lips is too big and I have great difficulties with drawing teeth.
But it all doesn't matter --> It only provides me an excuse to practice more

I see what you mean - I've just reported it. I've just finished two 5 min sketches of me from photos. They're rubbish, but I'll scan them in the morning - dog needs out.

Thanks, Ernest. I drew these two yesterday evening from photos - didn't have a mirror handy. They took about 5 minutes each - which didn't give me enough time to put in all the wrinkles!
