I am so proud of myself. I did 3 lessons in one night and had alot of fun doing them. I did skip lessons A and B. Lesson A, I didn't feel was teaching actual drawing and was just good for basic info and terms. Lesson B, Was interesting but I had already did a few exercises like that when I was reading the famous book Drawing On the Right Side of the Brain. (Was a great book!!) So I figured Lesson C was the perfect spot for me to start. I personally think I did fairly well..but thats my opinion. Anyways feel free to look and leave comments. I needs someones praises, my husband thinks this is another fad I am going through and isn't being very supportive.

But I refuse to give up my art now that I am into it again.

I think you should be proud of yourself too! Nice too that you're doing them in order. I've been skipping all over the place.

Venus,
Don't listen to that non-believer. You are definitely on the road to something more satisfying and fulfilling than he can ever provide for you. One of those steps you have done already is taking some lessons, then posting your work here in your gallery. That koala is superb and takes a skill to have that fuzz turn out to be believable. You have the skill and patience to make a difference.
I have the same problem with my wife, who by the way is one of those rare people in the world who have no hobbies, sports, music, or other satisfying pasttimes so essential to living a full life. Everytime I show her one of my drawings, I get this amusing smirk telling me the same thing you are getting. So don't give up, I haven't and I'm seeing my improvement with every drawing I do.

Thanks for your support Eric..I don't listen to the husband. I love him dearly but when it comes to my art I don't listen to anyone around me cause they don't see what I see. We are entitled to our opinions and our spouses don't count right now. You keep working too. I think our spouses need a hobby though. You wanna know something funny is hub is always cracking jokes about me drawing all the time, then complains I spend to much time and he used to be a STRAIGHT A artist in HS and got acepted in the advance class that only a select few can join on teachers invite...go figure. Anyways I finished all of Lesson C and found it was way to easy to do alot of the cartoons. So talk to you later.

I don't have a hubby, so that would be kind of difficult. I suppose I could sketch my "dream" hubby! BUt, yes my son and I collaborated on a snake sketch a while back. I don't know what happened to it though. If I find it, I'll post it.

Well now that I have been drawing the lessons non stop hub has started to turn around a little bit and told me that he thinks I am drawing much better and getting better everyday. I know he was trying to compliment me in his own way..I just didn't know how to take it at first. Sooo I guess I will take it as it was. I also added 5 more lesson pictures I did also. I think today though I am gonna take a break from drawing (maybe)..lol my wrist is killing me. I think I was a litle rough on the pencil last night. So how is everyone today?

Venus,
You are taking this drawing by a storm. I looked at your gallery today and was truly amazed at the skills you are showing. If you keep going at that rate, you should pass Calvin up as the King ... er Queen of Gallery Posts. I wish I had the time to dedicate more to my drawing. I try to throw down a rough sketch of objects around my office on the desk calendar during the day. I'm getting pretty good at determining shading and proportions because of that.
School here starts next week and I've been busy for the last three weeks getting all the computers and servers and login accounts ready for the students and teachers when they arrive. Hopefully, when all the dust settles down and everybody gets logged in, I'll get some down time to sit in the office and draw. During the school year I'm like the Maytag Man, just sit around until someone has a problem. Sometimes it gets heavy, but other times its not and I have more time for myself. I wonder if our Admin is sitting around just drawing?
Keep at it,
Eric

admin has been busy getting more smilies yay

we got a waving one too thankies admin
psst admin i want a hugging one

pweeese
oops sorry totally went off on one .. was excited about the smilies .. you certainly have been busy Venus keep up the good work .. but try not too burn yourself out too quick and start getting bored with it .. i know i did a while back.. and found that i was getting too bored and was starting to make mistakes because i was rushing them to get them finished .. not these lessons by the way ... this was a few years back when i got back into drawing convetional again .. try and pace yourself a little .. or try some other medium like some computer art or water colours ..
