This weeks challenge i am honored to host....ive had a busy week...doing snoopy challenge and the daily challenges...my grandfathers death and now this....i wouldnt be any other place than here though...i hope it is something that everyone can do...all the pictures are taken by either me or my father....there are some that mean so much to me and cant wait to see what you all do with them and others that are just pretty....i hope you all enjoy them and drawing them as much as i do having them....Enjoy!

Very nice picture's .. you will have to forgive me because I am so busy packing and gettiung things around for our vacation ..so I have no time to draw ... but I will be able to post at least once a day and comment on work

Laurie great pictures!! I will be doing the roses. I just got my pastel pencils I ordered from ebay and can't wait to try them out. I might try the bridge and river too if I have time.

Ok Laurie as promised, here are my roses done with soft pastel pencils. I liked them as a medium but was disappointed at the green values they had. Nothing really vibrant enough to stand out and brighten the picture. So I ended up using a couple of colored pencils on the greenery part. Looks like I am the first to post as well....

OK Fellow Drawspace Members...Lets get our booties in gear and start doing some daily challenges!! Its great practice in strengthening your drawing abilities..don't be shy, no one will bite your heads off.

love the roses venus.....great job....seems like nobody comes here anymore....to do the challenges...so im not having any more daily challegnes until it livens up a bit in here....

It's not so easy for me to find the time every day to draw, although I try to.
The good thing about the daily challenges for me is that I feel a somewhat quicker sketch is fine too, I see it as being practice. BTW I hate to have missed soccer-saturday hehe, I love soccer! Maybe I will do a drawing for it anyways...
In the weekly challenge I want to do really well, I'm more critical about myself then. So drawing takes even more of my time then.

I really appreciate the effort people put into creating those great challenges for us.
And I hope to reward that effort as much as I can by doing the challenges.
So I'll do my best to do a drawing for this challenge too before the end of the week...

Bojana, yes post your picture here and if you really like it post it in your gallery. Try to keep it on the small size and no bigger than 200k so people with dial up can view it. I cant wat to see your work.

Thanks everyone for the compliments, I really like using pastels. LOL...so much so that I have been searching the internet today looking for deals on larger sets of pastels (not in pencil form though because there isn't that large of a variety of colors). I think the pencils are more intended for detail. I think I need to darken some of the details a little on my roses but other than that I think it came out pretty dern good.

This is not very good but I find it much harder to do small things and easier to do big ones.

Santaika, you have beautiful daughters, and I am sure people wouldn't mind drawing them but you need to wait until you sign up to host a challenge before you post any pictures in a challenge for people to draw. Why not send Paulette a Private Message and if you would like I would be more than willing to let you have my week next week to be host of the next draw challenge. I have the week of June 10th through June 16th, if you are interested, only you need 2-3 more pictures to go with the two you posted.
