I woud like some feedback on lesson B10 please. ph34r.gif The challenge horse looks like its mane has been hogged, I think I went the wrong way with my lines.

I think you did all right. The main is going the same way as the hatching, so it doesn't work too well. you could try crosshatching for your shading. The hair behind the ears is a bit ridged, give some loose flowing strokes. Since this is a lesson, it is the perfect time to teach your self to "see" better. Drop lines down from eyes, ears nostrils etc., do vertical lines and horizontal lines, then check them against the picture of the horse. This is a great way to train your eye to see proportions.
Keep up the good work.

Thanks paulette, my husband also says I tend to be a bit stiff with hair/fur.Some of my recent uploads to the gallery I have tried to use lines to help with proportion.

I was just looking at them. I really like the one of the duck and the hens too. The lines are something that I do after a free hand drawing to see where I didn't get it right. I try my best not to do it until after I have taken a picture of it. tongue.gif

Hi, I go to this website quite often when I need help with a particular animal drawing, there is a Horse Reference section on this forum which might be helpful. The people on this forum are just as friendly and helpful as they are here! Hope this helps, Elizabeth

Thanks Elizabeth, I will take a look tomorow. I just realised this is already on my favourites, as I was concidering weather or not to take the drawing course, though I dont realy want to have to go over the same topics that are covered on Drawspace.
