Find the most colorful ones you own with blossoms.. That would be the perfect pair !!

Umm why do they say pair when there is clearly just one..? dry.gif

THank you Kay, and Sonia.I need to see what kind of artist quality colored pencils they have in China as i expect to buy cheaper art supplies as here. I need badly some decent colored pencils and a 24 set or even 48 is not enough in choices of hues when you have a colorful composition to handle.Maybe Sonia can tell what kind of colored pencils are available in mainland CHina?

I honestly don´t know, Elena. I´m new in this... Never visited an art shop in mainland China. But I can tell you that here in Macau is very difficult to find a decent art supplies store. I have to go to Hong Kong or order them through internet! Anyway, I guess you can find the same brands you also find in your country.
ElenaM
Obrigado, Sonia.I will visiting two major cities like Beijing and Shanghai and hope to find art stores.I also order them here and they are very expensive + the shipping fee.

Very pleased to hear that.Anything that is a source of inspiration for drawing and work in a medium counts and adds to our skills or practicing a skill. Weekly challenges are a permanent feature of the site but there are many other fresh ways to stimulate our interest in drawing and discovering the infinite world of arts.Thank you, Kim.I am glad that you are happy with your work done in this thread.
I personally learned how others do things, how to look at the reference or tutorial, organize my work. It's also fun to do tutorials together.
I wish more people stopped by this thread and draw the green apple.
After I did the tomato from real life inspired by Ernest this is the second work in CP which I do it planned and carefully studied.
Maybe we should have threads with studies in which we take the time to discuss all aspects of a reference, the media, paper, light, etc. That would be great.

Elena, I think it's a wonderful idea. For me as a beginner with CP it would be very big help. smile.gif
annie2006
wow there is some fab artwork on this thread!

heres my litle attempt at the apple tutorial. i dont actually own any CPs currently, so ive attempted it in pastels instead.

out of interest, which brands of CPs do people recommend? i can see a purchase on the horizon lol

ElenaM
great apple, annie.I have several sets including Crayolas, Roseart, Caran d'ache and primacolor verithin.
I am sure you will find your favotrite brand to render that gorgeous apple of yours equally nice in Cp.
annie2006
thanks Elena i shall check out those brands smile.gif
kim1963
roseart I would not recommend ..because they are just poor quality and will just rip the paper .. they do not layer well at all ...the prisma colors or derwent and I am sure there are some other very nice smooth pencils that will compliment your work .

you have done a splenda job in pastels .

I'll second Kim's recommendations.
