First, hello. smile.gif I haven't been here in... a while blush.gif and now I come asking for help. Doesn't seem right, but job problems kept me away. I've missed the place.

Anyway, my boss has asked me to paint the front windows for Stampede. He's seen a couple of pointism(?) pieces I've been working on, I suppose thought any artistic ability could transfer mediums, and scales, and I am completely lost.

It sounds fun, in theory. But I looked it up, and everyone has an opinion on what can be used, from someone that mixes acrylic and oil, to specially designed markers. Foam brush? blink.gif

Help?

Gah.

Wintermind, I haven't done window painting but think you should try out a few sample pieces on glass to get a feel for it before you tackle the real thing.

Acrylic would be a good choice or gouache. Both have sticking power and can be removed without too much trouble too.

Grid out your image, the same way you would on paper to make sure your proportions are correct, then go to it!

paulette4 - Thanks! smile.gif

kim1963 - Well, that you used acrylic was something I needed to know. Thanks. smile.gif

IslanderNL - Ah, few problems with that. They want it tomorrow, haven't given me any idea what they want, and didn't mention actually having paint. I certainly don't have that much here.

I know how to grid a drawing, but I've never done it. I free hand everything. Because of the timing, the (four?) windows and that I've been working since 9:30 last night and am going back at noon, I can't see that I'll be able to do this the right way. And that really, really bugs me.

Thanks very much for the help. smile.gif
