I think it would be fantastic if you are a current or even previous Paint In Your Pyjamas course participants that you considered sharing your final projects with the whole group here in this forum. There are so many subtle variations of the shoe, urn, column fold, silver kettles etc. It would be great to see many variations of these drawings all in the one place. Some of you have moved off into different groups and would most probably love to see how your previous fellow class-mates drawings are coming along too. If you are currently studying in my courses, please consider uploading your drawings to share with others. Or alternatively point us in the direction of your gallery so that you can share with others not in your class. Thanks all, hope to see some images here in support of this idea:) Cheers! Cindy

You gotta love the shoe! I found the laces the most challenging.

I love the drawing! I am one of Cindy's current students and am still wondering if I have what it takes to draw like this.

Cindy has a wonderful way of gently bringing you along.. untill guess what.. you turn around and you're drawing like that! smile.gif

I have posted most of the exercises and all of the final projects from the units I've completed into my gallery...
Darla J... be prepared to be amazed at what you'll accomplish in these drawing classes. I have yet to see anyone do less than spectacular!
Enjoy!

Hi everyone!

I've attached both my shoe and urn...if anyone out there is considering taking a class with Cindy, I urge you to do it! I had next to no drawing experience just a few months ago, and here I have produced several drawings of which I am quite proud, including these. It's hard to believe that just anyone can learn these skills so quickly, but I am definitely "just anyone" and here I am! Cindy has a gentle but direct teaching style, and is so confident in you that you can hardly help becoming confident in yourself. Her methods have been distilled and refined into easy to understand pieces that come together to make accomplished artwork!

And yes - everyone does produce something impressive in her classes, however uncertain they were originally that they had it in them (I speak from experience here). I am positive that anyone who truly wants to learn and is willing to practice will find success with Cindy!

sn424, nuffy and sbhibbert, You all did an awesome job ... very good, thanks for sharing. I like to see how everyones work is the same but different, if you know what I mean!
... are you doing portraiture now?
nuffy
Hi tannis - yeah, I love how each person's drawing is a slightly different take on the same project. It's funny how individual style comes through.

And yes - portraiture time now. A little intimidated (as always!)...

Hi, everyone!

I am a student of Cindy Wider´s online drawing course. Already did the drawing and shading unit and I am currently studying portraiture.

Here are some of the exercises done for Cindy´s classes. I would not been able to achieve theses results without Cindy´s guidance and wonderful lessons! Thank you Cindy!

Cheers,
Sonia.

Click to view attachmentI've just finished my 3rd class with Cindy (Portraiture) and am amazed at how far along I've come with her excellent lessons comments, suggestions and support. As an example, I am posting my "self-portrait" from the introductory "DPJ" class (which I wasn't totally unhappy with -- but maybe should have been cool.gif )and the final self-protrait from her Portraiture class six months later. This positively reinforces my desire to continue developing my art skills!
I just added a "touched up" version of my final project after applying suggestions from Cindy. lesson learned: don't be afraid of the white conte!!
Songsparrow
Wow. That is some improvement! Well done Leslie. smile.gif

Hi Leslie -- I'm in the Portraiture class now and am just getting ready to start my self-portrait. Just wanted to tell you that yours turned out beautifully! You did a great job. And what an improvement over your first attempt. Cindy's classes are fantastic, aren't they? Linda

Leslie I was reserving my comments for perspective class, but since you won't be in this current one - I'll give you my opinion now - wonderful, wonderful, wonderful! Really beautiful sensitive work! Enjoy your time off!

Hi Linda, enjoy the journey! Charcoal is soooo forgiving and it's amazing how just tiny little changes make such a difference! I received my final grade yesterday along with some suggestion from Cindy. After working on our own faces for two weeks or better, we sometimes miss obvious little things. She suggested that I add more highlights (I'm stil a little afraid of white conte... blink.gif and that the jaw line was a bit off. I went back and did a little fine-tuning, and it really did fix the "little-thing-that-was bothering-me-but-I-couldn't-figure-out-what-it-was". I only wish that I had waited to apply the fixative until after Cindy's last suggestions. Best of luck with your portrait. I'll be looking for it in her alumni forum smile.gif

Hi Charlotte, great job on your portrait! Isn't it amazing at how three dimensional it all becomes as we apply the charcoal. And what a difference from our original line drawings when we started on our journey with Cindy. I'm loving my drawspace!! I had to take a break from the lessons because we are having work done on our home and we will have to relocate for a few weeks at some point - with no internet access. My current plan is to enroll in the perspective class that Cindy will be holding in September. I'll keep looking for your work on this site in the meantime. Continue to have fun with it -- you have come so far!
Songsparrow
:)Well done Charlotte! The improvements you have made are quite stunning! Along with all the other contributions here! You must be absolutely over the moon with this? I know I would be. smile.gif This is a great advert for Cindys' teaching methods.

Songsparrow.... I can't say enough about Cindy's teaching methods...but of course a picture is worth a thousand words. All of the portraits are absolutely wonderful, congratulations to you all!

I really am over the moon with the improvements. I've learned so much from Cindy and her classes. Every week I look forward to the next assignment to uncover a new jewel of knowledge. biggrin.gif

Linda, You've done a really good job! The progress that takes place with only a few lessons with Cindy is pretty dramatic, I agree, she is fantastic! But you are fantastic too, well done!

Hi Laura,

I did the first two courses of Cindy with you. I'm doing the Portraiture class now. I just turned in the "straight hair drawing".
I found it very difficult.

You did a great job on your portraiture....the hair looks wonderful. I hope to do as well as you.

This is my third class with Cindy. I am now in the Portraiture class. These are the Urn and Shoe from the Shading Class. What a challenge the shoe was for me. I almost gave up a couple times. I am so glad with Cindy's help and my husband that I kept on working at it. I certainly overcame a hurdle with the shoe. Thank you Cindy
