Went to the pool today, but had Uncle Bob along to watch the kids, so I just sat on the deck and sketched. At first I was sketching people a fair distance off, but then this striking woman, a bit older than me but in way better shape, parked her chaise an arm's length in front of me, totally oblivious to what I was doing. She lost herself in a book and I drew her as she sat motionless for an impressive length of time.
These are all in 0.5mm 2B mechanical pencil on a 5x8 sketchbook.

The wife would have got suspicious at that point, I believe. She has come to understand my staring at other women -- as long as I'm drawing them

Very good sketches! Didn't they run away when they noticed you? I tried to do same thing on bus. Suddenly everybody started stare out to window. So I could draw only backs.

Very good Ernest. Nice to get the practice on live people. We can tell the lady was your favorite subject.
