OK, everybody! The cats out of the bag! They are called animated .gif files. You can search for them through Google, for example I input "waving animated .gif" for my search of course without the quotes. Then get one isolated, and link it into the post by URL (make sure only the picture is showing and not the entire website), or you can copy it to your PC as a .gif picture file and add it to the post as an attachment. One of the two ways, it may be different with each file, may get you success. But, be sure you do a "preview post" to see if it comes out OK, or you may end up with a [BLIP] like Woo did.
Have fun, but don't go overboard. Too many of these spoil the landscape.

Please, please DO NOT hotlink to images/graphics on the web to post at another website! This is bandwidth theft and is as illegal as shoplifting or any other kind of theft!
A good illustration of what happens is when a neighbor of yours runs a dropcord over to your house to use
your electricity to power the lights and appliances at
their house! They get the benefit of the electricity but you pay for it!
If you hotlink an image/graphic, when someone views it on the website where you placed it, the actual viewing is taking place on the original website using the bandwidth of the original website. I know that sounds confusing but just take my word for it and don't hotlink!
And please don't hotlink images from here. Even if they're your art, you would be using Brenda's bandwidth and we all know she already has enough problems in that area!
And while we're at it - just randomly taking an image from the web may also be copyright violation. Just because it's posted on the internet doesn't mean that it's free for you to take. You wouldn't want someone taking your art so don't do it to anyone else. Many artists are flattered & will give permission for you to use their art if you ask. However, there are also many who sue if they find their images being used without permission.
You can tell if an image is being hotlinked by right clicking on it & checking the "properties" line.
I don't mean to ruffle any feathers but if you weren't aware of these issues, better you find out from someone who cares about you enough to inform you than a nasty note popping up in place of your graphic to embarrass you! (You can tell if a graphic is being linked to illegally & some webmasters will rename the graphic so it can be used on their website & insert a nasty note to the hotlinker using the url the offender used to hotlink.)
