Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to say hello wave.gif to everyone on this wonderful website. I just HAVE to also say that I am absolutely amazed at the wonderful diversity and depth (not to mention 'freeness' biggrin.gif ) of the lessons on this site, and I wanted to thank whoever it is that has ultimate responsibility for gratitude acceptance blink.gif, for providing the extensive information and material herein. Oh, and introduce myself to everyone else smile.gif .

I'm from Nottingham in the UK, I'm extremely old, and I've been drawing for years, but have always used technical pencils, have NEVER used traditional pencils, NEVER learned to 'hatch' (I have always kind of scribbled & blended), and have NEVER drawn from life (I have always drawn from my imagination wacko.gif ).

SO, I have just treated myself to some Derwent pencils, and I am looking forward to learning new skills and techniques arts.gif, and I am expecting to be an extremely rich world renowned artist by the weekend cool.gif.

Thank you again and Hello again.

DB

cool2.gif - Sorry, am I allowed to smoke in this forum?

I believe you can smoke if you wish smile.gif ..I saw your drawings in your gallery and I posted comments .. I do not want to repeat myself althou you are really old so maybe you will not mind smile.gif lol .

I love that your art is from your imagination...some may wonder what you think about to come up with this kind of stuff but I myself think your art is unique and see lots of money coming your way ....maybe not by this weekend but one never knows smile.gif

Thank you again Kim for your comments in my gallery. I do love drawing things from the imagination, but I am quite envious of some of the amazing 'life drawings' on this site and elsewhere. I'm excited about learning new things from this site ph34r.gif (I always wear a ski mask and stare strangely when I draw).

biggrin.gif DB, Welcome to Drawspace. Beautiful pencil drawings. As for drawing from your imagination there is nothing wrong with that. Alot of people wish they had the imagination to draw from it rather than doing realistic stuff all of the time. Be glad for what you have is my motto. As for you being old, LOL, my husband was born the year after you and I wasn't born until 1975. Do the math. hehehe. Look forward to seeing you around, try joining in on the drawing challenges and there is a colored pencil class going on as well if you are interested. wub.gif

Hi Venus, Brian & Paulette. Thank you so much for the welcome. (I've never had my drawings referred to as 'beautiful' before smile.gif ). I'm only feeling old at the moment because I'm working nights for a week and suffering from sleep deprivation. The positive thing is that my imagination is enhanced when the dark sleep deprived hallucinations start! Hopefully I'll feel 18 again by the end of the week, and I'll certainly check out the discussions and drawing challenges properly then.
