I know it isn't the same as the picture, but I gave it a 2 hour run.

I think you gave it a great shot, you have most of the elements in here and your hatching is coming together nicely.
I would suggest that two hours is a very short time frame to try to complete a drawing like this. Most experienced individuals would probably have the outline and basic values in place in that time frame, then start to build on the details from there.
Take your time and go slowly, observe, measure reference points to make sure you get a likeness and you'll do well.
It would be fun to use this as an exercise to get people to go through the lesson and post as they go, so advice and guidance can be provided to help assure success.

Yeah, I always tend to want to finish when I should be enjoying the process. I'll try another and set a goal for just the outline. Thanks for the reminder.
