Hello, I am new to the forum.
I have created art since I was very young. My family were all involved in some aspect of art - whether painting, drawing, sculpting etc. I went to school and majored in art, got my art credential and a multiple subject credential. So then I got hired to teach 6th grade! I have been teaching for 15 years, and just this year I got a position teaching art!!! I am very excited and very nervous to make this change in my career. I should be thinking about retirement, but I am beginning anew!
Anyway, I found this site looking for lesson ideas, I was impressed and decided to join. I especially like the ideas of art challenges. I have become rather stale lately... too hard to sell work.... even jewelry. No one seems to care that your work is original, only that it should be cheap! mad.gif I keep painting because I love to paint.
I hope to continue to be involved and learn from the rest of you, and hopefully help with suggestions of my own.

biggrin.gif Hi Colleen, Welcome to Drawspace. Brenda's lessons are wonderful for teaching children. Plus, with you teaching art to 6th grader's the results will be much more mature than elementary children. I think it's alot of fun to teach others. I have had the joy of helping my brother's fiance. She is developing fairly well. I hope you find what you need here and if you need anything feel free to ask. We all help each other out here. wub.gif
