I haven't been to this thread in a while, but let me say, you guys have been busy wub.gif

John that pipe is really a beauty, and the chair is allso nice.

Hellen, your bus is just great!!Like Mr. Offir said , it looks like it was unfinished on purpose!

Mr. Offir your sleeping dog is great, as always.

Ernest, looks like the only one who noticed you where drawing was the dog biggrin.gif and the drawing on Zachary is amazing, it doesn't seem just a skech. well done

Paulette, so nice that the boys posed for you, there figures came out very nice, its very hard to draw people in life wacko.gif

Elena, you did great on those pastels. I love those compositions.

Audrius, that's nicely drawn, but what is it? it looks like a frog, done with folded paper, forgive me if i am wrong.
ElenaM
the frog it's actually origami, Clara.
siksnosparnyte
Yes, it's an origami frog. I have done about 100 of them.... I still want to make 1 000 frogs like this. smile.gif
Ernest Friedman-Hill
My daughter makes those -- great drawing!
kim1963
Wow everyone here is doing such great work .. I always liked to look through this thread ...keep up the good work .
Kaly
thanks Elena and Audrius for explaining. I've checked out what origami is on the internet, and it's really amazing what you can do with paper.

you captured him in a very interesting position smile.gif

i think your style is special and quite unique .. i love it, but aren't the lines a bit darker on paper? unsure.gif something makes me feel that the scanned drawing isn't half as good as the original drawing ... and that can only be because of the compression and other scanner settings sad.gif
Kaly
That's great Mr. Ofir.

John, here's my hand finaly wink.gif

good job...are you wearing several rings? It looks like there are bands around several knuckles
Also, that 'bar' in your pictures .."Bar" is in English. Are you or your husband American? "Bar" is an American word.

John
mmmmmmme
Here's my hand. Unusual pose, and yes it tried to cramp a little... ohmy.gif
15 minutes.

Hi John,

No I am not wearing any rings, those are supposed to be my hand lines, I guess I pushed them to far... blush.gif
About the word BAR, well in Portugal that word along with many other English words are commonly used, anyway the folks who built this bar where Portuguese but lived in Canada for some years, they opened the bar for their son to run it, He's name was Nilton, therefore the bar's name. Some years later the boy died with diabetes he was only 22 years old, after that he's parents decided to rent the place, and nobody ever changed the name of the bar.

My husband and I are both Portuguese but I was born in South Africa and lived there till I was 10.

Melinda, nice hand wink.gif

Thanks Hellen I guess I should check my scanner settings but I think my drawings don't suffer too much lose compared to what pencil and colored pencil drawings lose. My drawings look better in paper but not that better.

Great hand Clara and yours too Melinda, I like the unusual pose. I suck at hands I need more practice.

Great work !! That street scene with the car would have been difficult with the persective.

Had to wait at the airport yesterday fro my sister's delayed flight - found somewhere to park for free (wow is that hard these days!!) and sketched a littles garden bed with a boardwalk through it.

Nice scissors Mr Ofir - hope that doesn't mean its off to the podiatrist!

Its those hands - they are following me ! They are still good Clara.

I stopped on the way home from my patient on sunday and sketched at a local wetlands, not very good at the water in watercolour yet and the water looks like it is sliding off the right side too. But its nice to destress by sketching anyway.

I got kind of sick of trying to create a masterpiece...
Recently I have been drawing using grids, have been tracing and so on. And I think I'm tired of all this. I have even forgotten how much fun drawing should be... I always tried to draw without any mistakes. And I think I have had enough. Back to basics. I started to draw without any shortcuts, without beating myself for mistakes, without an eraser...

Here are some sketches I have done. I even used a ballpoint pen to avoid giving up and picking my eraser. And I tried to look and think more than draw. Just now I started to draw what I see. Not what I think I see....

So far so good, Audrius. Try again the mug and saucer for practicing the ellipse. There you might have to work more. The rest of the objects are just fine.
siksnosparnyte
Thanks for advice, Elena. smile.gif I will try to do my best!
ElenaM
here is a life sketch of my husband- 10 minutes pose.He moved a lot while writing at his book and i am not that satisfied with the likeness but happy with the sketch in general mostly because i used NO eraser.
Mr Ofir
Of course you should be happy Elena that's a great sketch. I'm wondering if you're not being too hard on yourself on the likeness, it can be difficult to be satisfied with the likeness on portraits of the people you're close with.

I drew an elephant figurine from different angles:

Nice job, but i am a beginner, so i want you to advice me if you find any mistakes in my paint,
i draw it in 11 minutes...

Kaly
Elena, that is very good for a live 10 minute drawing and when the subject moves even more dificult, so yes you should be proud wink.gif

Mr, Offir, cute elephants biggrin.gif

Black widow...wow 11 minutes?? that's great! wink.gif keep it up

Here's a couple, OK, three, of mine to push this thread along. I did these while waiting for a call back from a software vendors tech support.

The top one is done in ink as that was all that I had at the time. I quickly found out that I need to erase and ball point pen is out as a medium for me at this point in time. I went and found a pencil for the bottom two drawings and I think they look more visually appealing. I had fun drawing them and it helped to pass the time.

Enjoy,
HayTay

I forgot about this one. I got this nectarine to pose for me, before I ate it, so that I could try out my new, and first ever, sketch pad. This is drawn with a #2 pencil on a Canson sketch pad during my lunch hour.

I hope y'all find it as tasty,
HayTay

I haven't been in for a while and there are some great things happening. And you are all braver than me - can't live without my rubber (oh sorry blush.gif - for all those laughing that's what we call erasers here in Oz - we call the things you are all thinking of something else entirely tongue.gif ) As for going lead free ohmy.gif I am not up to that yet - I may ink , but I need my pencil first.

I was at an appointment today and did this cute little lady in a funny little pink knitted cap with a turned brim. The odd thing was she seemed to have no lower lip (made me think of Frank Burns from M.A.S.H. laugh.gif ) About 10 mins on it then started a new one under her when I was called for my xray.
