This site again draws attention to the question of natural talent. (click on the word "This" to be taken to the site) I do believe it exists & just wish I had it! lol

However, you can see the progression of her work and again, you know that practice and perserverance are definite factors.

i always feel that we all have a purpose in life .. my illness has made me look deeper into my life it has made me look at things differently .. has taught me patience and compassion.. since being diagnosed i find that my art has improved because i now take the time to look at things in more depth .. to see beauty where others cant see.. instead of looking at my illness as a hinderance ive grown to except it and be thankful that it has opened my eyes a little wider than they were before smile.gif

J, I came across this young lady's web site whilst i was "stumbling" with firefox yesterday and i was just coming to post it when i spotted your thread. What a fantastic gift to have at such a tender age.
We can only dream of talent like that!

If you click on the link to Akiane_life on that site, there's a question and answer button. A pop-up window opens and the first question is "How did you learn to paint?" Her answer is "Through a lot of work, study and observation." Her answer sort of surprised me. Even someone with "natural talent" evidently has to put forth some effort. She also said that she may do many sketches and spend hours and hours on a painting. As brilliant as she is, that she also has to work at being good should encourage all of us.

I'm glad this was posted. She is just amazing. I am almost up to her 5 year old talent. laugh.gif

Ok, I am not saying that this little girl is not very good. She is great. But. She is young and her mind is fresh and uncluttered by left brainedness. Also she has four maybe five year of drawing practice that maybe if most of us had at that age might have made a significant difference in our developed art ability. And add to that, who knows how far along at drawing we all here might be in five years if we are as focused as this little wonderful artist is. My point is that I don't really see an argument here that she is any more talented than some of our good artists. Just my opinion. smile.gif
