You know I think I skrewed up that is ,is it nine or is it 8.I don't know what got into me.I think it was the simple thing of looking at the list and as Sue was hosting her name wasen't there so I counted 8 but I did a card for Sue and she did have address listed. SO I thought 8 but Knew it was nine. So I'm blond what's new.It was funny because I remember that game where you all sit in a circle and whisper in someone's ear and that person whispers in the next person's ear and by the end of the game the last person in the circle has to say what was said and of course it is totally different than the words used to start the game. ..We used to always play it in school and I wanted to use it for the childhood trade but wasn't sure how to draw it all. This sort of reminded me of that. Are we showing cards yet or are we waiting since there are only nine? Today I got BATMAN now that's everything I'm hearing being yelling " BATMAN ".Great Sue it is sort of like getting the noisy toy!!!! I love it and thanks and I'm still adding to my stamp collection. Pictures of "little "Allen are late. He has gotten Big. No fussy eater here like my kids were . Morgan is still not here. It is almost school .Our system must be in slooooow mode. You would think he could have time to adapt a little first but all are on stand by. Kay is that you .What a lovely pic .My husband wasen't minding everyone show all.Typical Male.Of course Steve remand totally immune Good old Steve.I saw the real you on the other form and liked that one.He looked all "cuddly like " From a woman with few words Joanna ooh P.S my 2nd' son's marriage is over so I think that took over my thinking. It was a real shock. Now that is all , talk tomorrow I hope luv you all joanna

Kim it was soooooo funny, I did the thing where I address the envelopes and turn them upside down then just toss the cards randomly on top of the envelopes. When I turned them over I couldn't believe that the Queen of Horror got Psycho! Sometimes I think that even when we mix it up people still get the card that they are meant to.
Gretchen I got your lovely card yesterday and that terrific CD. Its odd that when I read through them all so many are the same as we had here but then some were hits here by homegrown artists and I haven't listened to all the somgs yet (busy day yesterday & the car doesn't have a CD player) so I will today and hear the differences. Thank you soooooo much for all your thought and effort that's gone into this swap!
Joanna, sorry about your son's marriage, but at least the family has little Allen's arrival to look forward to. Enjoy your new grandsons and I hope he makes it in time to get kitted out properly for school. And if not remember a week late so that he can settle in to family first will not do any damage to his education at that age. Its the love that he will get from your family that will have the most profound effect on him.

What a lovely job I did with posting my cards!!!! I'm not sure what I did wrong. At one point I had 5 flower power pics. Oh well.My photo shop has been acting different so ,that is probably it.But I never know how to correct things even though there are good instructions. Just a note sveta is not on this trade right? Is this just a private thing? Next I got a card back from South Africa and it is addressed to what is on the list soooo?I realize that it was the childhood trade but she can't be receiving too many cards. So I'm now wondering what to do. I love who ever did the go go boots and I wish they would come my way.I did a pair on some one's card and they are so different. I think I must stop using any markers. I did buy some polychrome p.c's and wow what a difference. That submarine sucks Kim I know the look is not what I wanted so I'm redoing it.Same with Apollo card It was to be filled in with black but I didn't do that because my colours bleed! They look o.k when they leave here they seem to look fine but when they're posted I don't like the result. So I 'm switching to P.C's or water colours. If any body else has hints ,suggestions please let me know because after 2 years I should be doing better. I love every card I get Thanks all joanna

Great cards
Roxy! I love Jeannie too and can't wait to see which card comes my way as there are a couple of others that are faves too.
Looking fwd to seeing all of
William's hard work, too,
Paulette..........I think he has probably worked harder than the rest of us, we have mostly been toddling down memory lane, and he has had to research the subject....plus it is soooo hard to to decide between all the images you can find! And being his first online swap he would be feeling nervous too. But I know that whatever he has decided to draw for us he has put his heart & soul into and will be terrific (especially if his quickies earlier were anything to go by)!

that is great paulette. I am glad he enjoyed himself, now you have to get him started with his own trade book..It is a great thing for him to be involved in.
I have been wondering if we should have a trade 'just for children', I wouldnt mind hosting them, it would be up to the parents to see to it their children follow through..do you think there will be enough ppl interested in getting their children involved? we can have it special just for them to draw and connect to each other. what do you guys think? I mean with school and all they probably already have enough to keep them busy though, but it was something that crossed my mind

That's an interesting idea. I'm sure my son would be thrilled to do a kid's ATC trade. I'll cut some cards for him to do in his spare time, and let's see how many kids we can get in! Maybe no theme, just let them be creative?

I have been contacted to ask why I have not started the next trade! Just to let you all know, I have it all ready to post, just waiting for the word go, and I assume it will be after the official end date of this trade. The topic? A little hint . . . think "not of divine origin".

Ok, maybe that was too cryptic

. How about "man-made". Remember, that is not the topic, just the hint!

Kay! I love that quote! ROFL. Seen it before, but today it just hit my funny-bone. It doesn't get much more stressfull for me than what I've been dealing with, buying a business, and facing meetings with all the parents in my preschool today; I needed that quote! Of course it should all be smooth sailing from here.

Shanna, seems everyone is chomping at the bit and we are all just waiting for the card sto arrive so why not post the new trade. We can still come here and chat about the cards as they arrive.
And speaking of that I received Kay's & Trish's today and they are great! But you'll all have to wait as I have decided to post all of them together when they have all flown over here into my letterbox!
I think its a great idea Kay for a Kids trade...........why not post a new topic to gauge as many people as possible on it.........there may be folk like Ernest who don't normally join a lot of trades but their children may find it a terrific idea. And you could get an idea of ages and how long it should run, because kids can be slower especially as your school year has started over there.
Ladylee
Sep 11 2009, 03:00 PM
I love the idea of a kids trade as well. I can't guarantee that mine would join, and they may be too old for it, as they are 17 and 14, but they are both really good artists already. I'm trying to get them to post their art, and do some of the tutorials, outside of school art classes. They love the cards that Jazz and I get. They always skip looking at the adult trade pages, although we keep them right there with the rest. I like the idea of a kids specific trade for the very reason that I am all in favour of more adult trades in the future, and kids cannot be in on those.

Sep 11 2009, 03:09 PM
Sue, I don't see any reason to start early. People who are in the trade you are hosting are expecting the end date to be the 15th, so I will go ahead and start my sign-up time on the 15th and close it on the 21st. I have to be away on the weekend between there anyway, so when I get back I will add people to the list. Then we can create and post until perhaps Oct. 17.

Very nice William. You did a really good job.

Sep 19 2009, 12:49 AM
Jangra, You are welcome. My first idea was to do the Haight-Ashbury and the Greenwich Village one together, then I saw your address as California so I decided to leave out the village. I never made it to Haight Ashbury but it was a major ambition of mine at the ripe old age of 16 when I thought I knew it all. I did make it to Greenwich Village for a couple of weeks though.

Now that really gives away our ages doesn't it.........fondly remember the Mod Sqad, but also loved the UK TV series from back then too........The Sweeney (loved that Flying Squad!).........The Professional's Bodie & Doyle....great gritty cop shows even back then when so many were just cheesy, good guys alwys win stuff.
I had a favourite that they tried to ressurect a little while ago........didn't last. I loved the Original Randall & Hopkirk, deceased.........but they may have just sneaked in to the 70's????
I haven't had any cards for a while, so am hoping that the last few will land in the letterbox this week. Looking fwd to them, but I know their arrival is at the vagaries of the postal system.
