Well guys I'm going to get some art classes in september i'm so excited!!! Anyways here are some drawings sorry for the bad quality i was in a hurry.
Ill try and post smaller next time. Anyways guys im going to try to post atleast one sketch every day in my journey to become a better artist! My goal is to inspire other as i improve (hopefully.)
If i dont post a sketch ill make up for it the next day, but i assure you i will be sketching every single day!!!
Finally it would also help if you guys could critique my sketches thanks.

What a good idea Sparky.

It's all about practice , practice, practice!
However I would suggest that you need to post better quality photos or use a scanner as it is hard to critique such blurred drawings.
If you are going to use a camera and have problems with blurring try putting the camera on a steady platform rather than holding it.
Brenda has some excellent drawing lessons on this site which you may want to try, as well.
Look forward to seeing more drawings from you.

Don't be disheartened Sparkyy, from what I can tell your top hand drawing looks anatomically correct. Are you going to add shading, to give them a 3D effect?
Members on Drawspace are very supportive but it is hard to comment if the picture is such poor quality. They look dark enough but appear out of focus. Is it a self focusing camera or do you have to focus it yourself? I take it you don't have a scanner?
Keep trying!

Thanks IR I really didnt have time to post yesterday 2 new sketches coming up today. My camera you press a button and it zooms in on its own. They don't HAVE to critique, but i would like more support

. Even if i get no support i wont stop posting in this topic!!!! lol

Great sketches, sparkyy! Especially I like that watch. How long does it take for you to draw a sketch like it?
Try taking those photos outside in a shadow, or try to make lighting at home as bright as you can. For me that helps.

Hey sik!!! The watch i drew at the airport it took about 10 min i didnt put all the detail on it so thats why it was pretty quick. Maybe your right about the lighting thing i should go to my room where its much brighter thanks!!!

Here are the sketches from today and yesterday, guys. Sik thanks so much for the camera tips they worked, i think these are pretty good quality! Im not shading right now because im just working on getting porportions correct and getting the objects to look as close to the real thing as possible, and also because im very bad at shading... I am practicing it tho!
First one is baby, second is my brother sleeping (legs only.)

wonderful idea. it took me a while to get into shading. i'm still horrible at it though; i feel like it's the hardest part of drawing.
nice sketches. the recent photo looks tons better in lighting. hope to see more !

Thanks kari shading is probably the hardest part for me aswell!!! Guys school has started today so it will be harder to upload pics, but i still will upload them!!!! Most likely ill have to upload every other day but with more than 1 drawing so it counts as 2 days.

I will not give up on my journey!!!!

Despite the fuzzy quality of the pictures, your drawings are very well done. You draw bodies well, esp. hands. I'm not a pro, but add some shading and they'll look even better. Wow, you start school early. We start the 4th of September!! ^.^

I'm practicing shading and if i shade them it will just ruin them XD. 2 new sketches coming tomorrow! (didnt have time today.)

shading kills me too. I keep reminding myself to shade less and make multiple light passes instead of rushing. Nice work.

Hehe, yeah there are bunches of times i don't feel like sketching or drawing but i do anyways because i want to improve and i love to draw I want to do this in the future for a living so might aswell practice as much as i can now!!!

Even if i can only draw for like 10 min that day i still do!
practice practice practice i know it will pay off for everyone if they keep doing it

. I also have bad news guys im not going to be able to get some drawing lessons because you must be 16+ years old.

but i guess ill have to be self taught like Brenda and BRB!

That annoying about not being able to get drawing lessons, though im finding the lessons here great, so perhaps better to be 'self taught' through Brenda's lessons and posting your finished work on drawspace for feedback.

I think the whole age restiction thing is stupid........I think anyone should be able to do what they want with out that 16,18, or 21 years up thing. I do so very much agree with Katie "self taught" is a great way to go!!! As long as you love to draw there is no stopping you!~!~!~!~!

I completely agree independent its not like its a nude figure drawing class! Its a portrait class they should let anyone in they probably think we are too immature. Although many kids are I might be sometimes aswell when it comes to drawing im more serious than ive ever been, but no matter thats there problem I will draw draw draw and look at online tutorials like Brenda's and i will improve!!!

(Btw i have been drawing this week ill upload saturday if possible!)

Ok guys, I have a question!!!:) I've recently been obsessed with the works of Leonardo da Vinci. I notice when he shades he uses hatching, but the thing about his hatching is he does all the lines almost in the same exact angle, and almost perfectly straight lines in a 45 degree angle. In the study of the masters that Brenda did she points this out. So can anyone give me tips on how to draw straight good hatching lines?
They always come out a tad bit curved for me!!! The drawing journey is so frustrating!!! Oh, and some new drawings coming up later today for sure!!

First, let me tell you that there's no rule that says your hatching lines have to be perfectly straight, or at any specific angle. Being consistent is generally the important part; doing it in a way that is comfortable for you is also important.
You can make straighter lines by moving a larger part of your arm. Instead of (for example) resting your hand on the paper as if you're writing, pick up your hand and move your whole forearm from the elbow; the lines will be straighter because the radius of rotation is much larger!

Well straight hatching lines actually are the most comfortable way for me.

Curved hatching are difficult for me to do though. Also i really like the effects hatching gives. I've tried many types of shading, circulism, crosshatching, hatching, and the way BRB does it which is putting the pencil almost parallel to the paper and then shade. Out of all of them I like how hatching and how BRB's method is but I dont have good control with BRB's method

. Thanks for the tips to Ernest.
Before i drawing im always going to draw a bunch of hatching lines, I tried this and as i do more i get better. So i guess its like a little warm up before i draw.
katie_cuddles1

i always have to have a few mins sketching before doing an actual drawing, just to get the feel for the pencil and pressure again. so perhaps the "warm up" is something a lot of artists have to do?
