I'm new here and wanted to post my first drawspace lesson[attachmentid=6794] artwork. I work mostly in colored pencil and want to learn more about anatomy and figure drawing. This first drawing has taught my a lot already! I'm finding the information on this site extremely helpful - great lessons and illustrations! I look forward to working on more of the lessons soon. Thanks for the support - sometimes working so much alone as an artist, I need the kind of feedback only other artists can give.
On a more technical note - I'm wondering if there's anyway to list the forum posts from the newest to oldest. Mine comes up with the very first post and I would like to read the most recent ones initially. Anyone have any suggestions?

Welcome to the forum. I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself here. As to critiquing your portrait...I'll save that for the pro's here. I just drew my third portrait ever so I have no expertise in the field. There are plenty of people here who will be happy to help and know what they're doing. smile.gif

Welcome and I can only agree with you on the usefulness of the site.

I think you could either make the eyelashes less dark or other parts of the face more dark just to even it out. also the lips seem to have a line around them, one of the things I've learned- but don't do very well-is the more realistic you want your drawings to be the less lines you should use. Values are much more important, you can make it very dark, just don't outline. Of course this takes a lot of practice and I'm sure light lines to block in shapes are reasonable for anyone less than Michelangelo. wink.gif I love the hair though, very beautiful!

Hi! My name is Bryce and I really enjoy drawing and painting. The subjects which I use most often are children and babies. My dream is to become an excellent portrait drawer. I like the lessons that are available on Drawspace especially those dealing with figure drawing. Hopefully, in the near future, I will be posting some of my work.

Happy to join the team!! biggrin.gif
