I do believe I just received my last one. It is from Mathieu, thank you.
I'll put them all together and get them posted as soon as I can.
I believe some of mine are still winging their way to people, sorry it wasn't in time for Halloween unsure.gif I'll know for the next time that I will need at least two weeks before the holiday.

kim1963
Ernest will be running the next trade .. so he has the details .. but yes this is fun and I love the small art smile.gif
paulette4
Okay I have found time to give this the proper time it needs.
First thank you all for your hard work and creativity! This is the most amazing set of cards!
Here they are in alphabetical order.

[attachmentid=7811]
Witches Hat
Acrylic on playing card
Artist Bigs

This hat has a lot of character! The acrylic gives it a beautiful texture.
The card came in an envelope with a dog portrait on it.
Very professional! Thank you Sue!

[attachmentid=7812]
Rowing Kobold
Water colour and black pen
Artist Endymion

I love this little guy and all the details. Watercolor is such a wonderful medium.
I feel there must be a story behind this, who or what is Kobold?
Thank you Mathieu!

[attachmentid=7813]
Thoughts of Halloween
Coloured pencil
Artist Ernest Friedman-Hill

This was a cool idea! Great job on shape and form.
Ernest you are definitely ready for a full colour portrait!
Thank you Ernest!

[attachmentid=7814]
Happy Autumn
Graphite and marker
Artist Frithy

Wonderful composition and lots of detail, well done! I like the combo of graphite and marker(?).
This I think is a uniquely British Columbian theme, totem poles, mountains, autumn and water.
I haven't been to B.C. but I do see my history books.
Great drawing on the envelope!
Thank you Gretchen!

[attachmentid=7815]
Harvest Moon
Watercolour, pen and ink
Artist Jangra

I just love the richness of the colours! The colours in the sky are just great!
The owl and moon are so-o Fall/Halloween, great pick!
Thank you for the great note telling me about yourself.
Also a very professional job.
Thank you Jeanne!

[attachmentid=7816]
It's Not All Magic
Prisma colour pencils
Artist Kim1963

This card makes me smile every time I look at it. The idea of a witch out hanging her laundry is just a riot!
Very well done, the slip looks so delicate! I wonder what she wears while hanging laundry? tongue.gif
Thank you Kim!

[attachmentid=7817]
Spiders Web
Colour pencil
Artist Meow2000

These spiders look like they are up to no good! tongue.gif
Good job working on black paper.
I love the movement of the spiders, it almost looks like they are in a dance.
Thank you Miranda!

[attachmentid=7819]
Autumn Leaf
CP on bristol smooth
Artist Shoulders

Wow, CP on the bristol feels and looks like velvet!
The leaves are beautiful and I love the layering of colours. It gives it a nice dimension.
Thank you Amanda!

[attachmentid=7820]
Dracula
Graphite
Artist Thunderbird9395

No wishy washy Dracula here, he looks ready to eat!
I just love the details! The shadow under the eye, the streak in the hair, the cheekbones, great job!
Thank you Travis!

[attachmentid=7821]
Ghostly Boo!
Colour pencil
Artist Venus

What would Halloween be without a ghost! What a great character!
I love the expression on his face. Well done!
Thank you Venus!

I hope I have conveyed to you all how much I love my cards! wub.gif

[attachmentid=7823] This is the scrapbook I plan to keep them in.
paulette4
Just wanted to add that I posted them as a group on my blog if anyone is interested to see them together.
endymion
Hi Paulette,

Thanks for your comment smile.gif

You're right, there is a little story about this drawing : in fact, this is a reproduction of a little statue I own :
[attachmentid=7825]

I've got plenty of these at home, I just love them. In French, I call them "Lutin", but I'm not sur of the exact translation in the English/American folklore...

Seeing Wikipedia, I think I've been mistaken... Goblin or Leprechaun would be better wink.gif

Mathieu
Jangra
Mathieu I got your card today. Thanks so much. It is so cute.

Surgery is reset at 1:00pm tomorrow. But I had to redo my labs about an hour ago, so hopefully those will be ok.
Ernest Friedman-Hill
Paulette, that is a fantastic idea, a scrapbook! What a great way to keep all these treasures together.

Thanks so much for all the work to put this display together -- it's wonderful!
paulette4
Mathieu,
I thought it might be something like that. You did a fine job drawing him.
Jangra,
Good luck with the surgery!
Ernest,
I'll warn you the scrapbook idea has more to it than I thought. With photos you just tape them down. With these cards, you've got stuff written on the back that you want to preserve. I've decided to put each one in a little bag. It won't look quite as nice but it will keep the card safe.
I bought the scrapbook as a kit at the dollar store. It was just the right size, about 4"x4", one page for each card and it has decorations!
kim1963
Yes good luck on the surgery .

Paulette i love the way you put those out .. very creative smile.gif
bigs
Well I got the last two cards in yesterday's mail and this is the first time I've had to get them all scanned together. So here is the way I received them:

Jeanne's arrived first : it is fabulously rich in colour & I really appreciate the bare tree because here in
the sub tropics we seldom have any trees lose their leaves completely.

Then Amanda's (shoulders) : and it was one of the leaves off Jeanne's tree tongue.gif ! No it is a beautiful
autumn leaf.

Miranda (meow) was next : and my Mum was in the car after I had picked up the mail on the way
and your skull had Mum wondering what kind of people I was drawing with (we don't celebrate Halloween over here)

On the same day Ernest's card was there too : when I opened your skull Ernest she had had the
Halloween explanation for the swap and she looked at your's saying "Alas poor Yorick, I knew him well Horatio......"

Gretchen's (Frithy) followed : Thanks for the Pumpkin seller. I can just imagine the pumpkin soup I could make with those babies.........mmmmm...........and we also have roadside sellers like that .

The next was a great patchwork from Kim : the amount of work in that is amazing - don't know that
I could anywhere near that much detail into an ATC.

Thankyou Mathieu : are you an illustrator - the detail in this happy little gardening mushroom is
wonderful. I love him - I can think of him down the bottom of my garden with the faeries.

I was blown away by Paulette's : I have had a lot of people talk about drafting film but this was the
first time I had seen it used. And the more I look at this pic of the moon the more subtle colour I see - I don't know how long it took to get those variations on the blue & grey (& I think a bit of pearly pink?) but it was worth all the time.

And yesterday Travis' (thunderbird) arrived : and thankyou for giving small children nightmares -
although Mickey doesn't look too scary this time.

And last but not least by any means was Venus' : thank you for all the elements in this night sky -
I love owls and even have a Fitz & Floyd Owl tea set (I have pics of the teapot below in case you were interested)

Thank you all for the time, thought and effort that went into every single one. Sometimes I think it is the hardest thing to come up with original ideas and you folk are a real think tank - all the ideas are brilliant and so well transfered to paper.

Sue

paulette4
I am glad you liked it Sue!
I know in the white I used a bit of light brown and since I was going for a blue/black I probably used some orange in the dark areas.
bigs
Thanks for the info Paulette - I just had to let folk know how much detail was actually in it - those subtle colours just don't show on any scan, let alone when the scan takes in another 4 cards.

Hey, Ernest don't forget to let us know when you're going to post the next one! biggrin.gif

Thank you bigs... on the update of Jeanne...so pleased everything went ok for her... look forward to seeing her back in the forum.
paulette4
I am wondering if everybody has received their cards?
Ernest Friedman-Hill
Well, I'm still waiting for one card from Mathieu, but I'm going to share the ones I did receive. My parents were just here visiting me last week and they loved looking at these, and the other set from the summer.
[attachmentid=7895]
Left to right, top to bottom, we have:

Ghostly Door, from Paulette. The scan doesn't really show what it looks like. It's on drafting film so you can hold it up to the light like a slide! This inspired me to buy some film of my own. It's cool stuff. Thanks, Paulette!

Rest for the Wicked, by Kim. I love this incredibly cute, fun and sexy card. It's amazing how much is going on in this small space!

Pumpkin #1, from Jeanne. This is a nice mixed-media piece with beautiful colors.

Rest in Peace, from Venus. Beautiful and dramatic, with gorgeous details.

Untitled, by Amanda. It is tie-dye? Is it candy corn? What a fun visual pun!

Witchy-Poo, by Sue. Deep, dark black with watercolor pencils. Lots of detail in this tiny silhouette.

All Seeing Eye, by Miranda. I would be scared except we ate a whole bag of chocolate ones like this around Halloween smile.gif

Ol' Frank, by Travis. Frankenstein's monster never looked so happy!

Untitled by Gretchen. A great composition with a tiny, detailed witch flying by in the background.

Thanks, everyone, for these lovely cards. This exchange was great fun and I'm looking forward to the next one!

I have heard from Jeannie again - she was briefly at the computer but has been a bit under the weather since she came home so she will rejoin us when she is able.
