Full Version: Why the grid?

This site is GREAT.


In any art class I've taken where we had to draw a 7x5 grid, we did so because we drew the grid on the actual original photo, also. That way you can just match boxes up to the original(I believe in the old days artists actually made grids out of string and placed them inbetween themselves and the model). Is that what is supposed to be done for the tutorials, as well?

The tutorials that show how to use a grid, yes, that's what they're showing you -- but instead of the reference being a photo, it's Brenda's drawing.
