Hi all,

Thought I'd better do a 'greet' laugh.gif

I found this site a while back but I hadn't had chance to take a look. Lots of great information, ideas and talent on the site I see - I'm sure it'll be a regular visit.
The "well sorta" means I'm not really from NC, though I do live there (for now)... originally I'm from England, I note there's a few fellow Brits on the forum.
I have a few pieces from recent and long time past on my web-site if you care to look - comments are welcome of course smile.gif You can find them here: http://www.eh-up.com/php/photo.php?album=art/sketches

I'm about to do a still life composition featuring some Gerber daisies for a close friend soon, so I expect that'll be the next addition.

Pleasure to be here.

Cheers,

Andy

ehup (Andy)!

Welcome to the Drawspace Forum and a good load a' Chaps! That is right isn't it RJS? Anyway, I am originally from the same land you have your feet sunk into right now. No, not North Carolina, just somewhere within the Continent. I also took an inviting peek at your work you linked us to. Quite a collection of impressively detailed pieces you have there. I can see you are very interested in all the intricacies a reference can provide to you. I also feel you will fit in nicely with this website, and find that the lessons will be very helpful in providing you skills to become even better. If you pay attention to the detail in these lessons with the same rigor that you did in making your sketches, you will be a master in no time flat.

Also, look into posting your pics into the gallery here on Drawspace. The servers are much quicker at loading them, and you will get quite a few more critiques that way, as your drawings randomly show up on the gallery page as features. Plus, it may be quicker at loading them to view.

Again, welcome and enjoy the site,
Eric

Thanks for your nice comments, Eric. I'll certainly have to devote a bit more time to doing the lessons here than I have been to getting some sketching done. It looks lke there's a lot of support and friendly people on the boards here!

I'll certainly transfer copies to the drawspace server - I hadn't realised about the random gallery feature - glad you pointed that out. I already have my site set up now so I'll still be keeping that going (it's not costing me anything wink.gif )

Cheers!

Heh, I wish I could use that sort of inspiration all the time - they won't let me take one into work though...

Thanks for the gracious comments, Tehobu!

Hi ehup,

Your scetched houses are great.
The church has very good shadows and 'maginary set whilst at school' is very realistic. The sloping wall is very great and when I look around in old villages: very realistic!

Great to meet you here and welcome!
