One guy from Norway has made a bet that he will collect one million giraffes in two years. Let's help him to reach this!
There are only 512 days left. We have to hurry!

Norma,
I love your animal portraits. You really have the knack of getting them right. Great job on the giraffe. They are odd animals, did you know they have the same number of cervical (neck) vertebrae as a human?

Then when I got home my teenage sons and their friends added giraffes.
Twenty one in total.
Click to view attachmentThis is from the safari trade.
I think I will try a full picture too.

I posted all my giraffes on my blog. You can see them
hereI was just wondering if people on other art sites know about 1 million giraffes. Some of you guys are on wetcanvas and stuff like that. It would be really nice if you spread that forward. Thanks in advance

And, of course, I'm waiting all you bloggers to help me out with the Giraffe Sunday!

Yes, it does count. I have seen some guys drawing more than 1000 giraffes in one page. And they all count.

Actually, everything counts until you do it
yourself and NOT with a computer.

I actually collect 'stuffed/toy' giraffes - i love them to bits.
funny - i've never drawn one before... maybe it's a good time to start now

i don't have a reference photo, besides the one in Brenda's lessons.
i try that one and i'll try get more photo's/pics and draw them as well.
Paulette - good idea to get everyone to draw a giraffe - i'll get my sister and boyfriend to do one as well and post it up as soon as they are ready!!

Tania,
Why not draw one of the stuffed animals from life, as in, set it up as a still life and draw from the actual stuffed animal rather than from a picture? I bet you will do very well.

You're welcome, Kay. I couldn't miss it there. It really stood out from the crowd!
Next time try using "search" button at the bottom and you won't waste a lot of time just going through pages

And you won't miss a thing!
Yes, Lithuania somehow managed to reach the first place. Our country is very little so it's very interesting. But hey, almost all newspapers wrote about this project. Maybe that's why we all got giraffe-crazy

Anyway, lets see how long we keep us there! (I hope forever

Yeah, that site is doing well, although the average number of giraffes sent in per day is still too little for that guy to reach 1 million by 2011. But hey, it's increasing everyday!
