I gave the eye a try.
I wanted to see how graphite worked with film. So I did an ATC sized eye on film.
Not real crazy about it. Although I don't think I was working as fine and light as I could have.

racedolls
oh paulette i love it--i think it looks so great!!! now when you say you worked on film what do you mean by film and where can i get that-any art supply store? wow i think it really looks good and realistic.
great job!!
Lori
Cyn
Well, I think I have given up on this eye. They are a lot harder than they look. Kudos to you Paulette. laugh.gif

kim1963
Lori your eye look great .. I might try that one next smile.gif

Aib Love your tacks .. they look so real the angle is just perfect .. well done smile.gif

Paulette looks like a black and white photo .. nice job smile.gif

eyes are very hard and yes Paulette did a very nice job .. but yours also look fine .. you have the glossy look down pretty well smile.gif
Brian David Dekter
Cyn, paulette , and Lori .....I really love the eye's .....fantastic! drawings....Aib and Kim.... great tacks....you are a real pro Kim smile.gif

My try at the eye.....I found this extremely challenging....once again I rush too much and I am very tired from being in a first-aid/CPR class for the past two days.

Brian.
racedolls
thanks brian and your eye looks great, i think i am going to attempt in color pencils too. everyone is doing a great job. kim you make the tacks look so easy in color pencil, that is very deceiving though. i no it isnt easy!
Lori
Cyn
Great eye Brian.. Love the Snoop of course. Charlie Brown must be saying "Here's lookin' at you kid" laugh.gif
paulette4
Brian, too cute! Sweet job on the flower too!
Lori and Cyn you both did a great job on those fins(?) around the iris. I wonder, did you start there and work out. I ended there and found that I had petered out and didn't get them very well. It is amazing how much detail there is in an eye, at first look it seems so simple.
Everybody did well with the tacks also. Them and the eyes seem to be popular.
Cyn
I ended at the fins. By then I didn't want anything else to do with the eye. I should have made it smaller. It's about 5x7. It scares me every time I look in my sketch pad. laugh.gif I think smaller would have been easier. Live and learn. tongue.gif
paulette4
Oh definitely smaller, I was amazed at how much there was to cover on the 3.5x2.5. blink.gif
kim1963
Brian a job well done ! ....love the snoopy in the eye lol
Cyn
Here is my dandelion. It is done on a medium dark green strathmore but it scanned like it was black.
Oh well.. On to the next project. tongue.gif
Brian David Dekter
laugh.gif ...UHG .....Cyn......you just gave Charlie a new name....Bogart Brown.....Beautiful dandelions... smile.gif
Cyn
Bogart Brown laugh.gif Brian, you are so funny. biggrin.gif

Here is my flower. I don't do flowers. wacko.gif
kim1963
very nice Cyn .. I thought I did not do flowers until I did the watercolor class .. smile.gif your flower is very nice
Cyn
Thanks Kim, honey. You're the ARTIST!! wub.gif
As soon as I get the time, I am going to study Jeanettes colored pencil lessons. blush.gif

Here are my pins.
kim1963
Cyn your pins turned out very nice .. matter of fact i dont think people relize just how hard they are to draw .. because they look like two simple objects .. but the round edges and the angle of the pins makes it harder then it looks and you my dear ...pulled it off nice wink.gif

Hello to all the participants of this week's challenge and thanks for hosting Kim. The quality of the pictures is great. Good job.

I tried the eye because it was isolated and made for a good study. Actually I thought it looked kind of strange seeing it so close. The shadows and reflections are somewhat surprising.

I used a 6B, an F and a 4H lead for the drawing on a piece of A4 160 gms inkjet printer paper. It took about 4 hours to get this result.
