Brian David Dekter
Hi All,

Welcome to Snoopy 101 Cartoon challenge, my name is Brian David and it is my pleasure to host. Though I am no expert on this....

Jerry Siegel & Joe Shuster

Faster then the speed of light....More powerful then a locomotive....Look up in the sky....it's a bird...it's a plane...it's Superman....created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, comic book heroes were now born. In June of 1938 Superman appeared in six different comic books...it also had it's own newspaper comic strip, radio show, and animated cartoon series.

Batman was next to follow...to be followed by Wonder Women, Spider man, Captain America , Captain Marvel...and the list goes on....Although Super heroes has been very popular in many forms of media they seems to have found their way into the pages of comic books to be the most popular.

My Challenge

And this will test your creative side......Simply create one of your very own Super heroes.....and for those of you that would like to draw one of your favorite classics.... please feel free to do so.

You may use any type of medium you like but please no computer graphics...you may use your computer for text if you wish..

I hope you all enjoy this challenge, Happy drawings.

Brian

Hi Drawer32...welcome to the challenge....super villains are fine but please keep in mind ....all drawings should be fresh for the challenge........the purpose of these challenges is to practise our drawing skills....creativity skills and naturally have fun..

Happy drawings, Brian.
independentdrawer
here is my ideal hero.... not average but I like him better!!!.... Brian I just love your challenges!...they always let me put my own spin on things!!!!

here is his "story"
Daniel Adams is a typical high school student, he has little friends and confides himself in his best friend Sam who helps him discover his super hero abilities. Once He gets the hang of them all (flying, super strength, mind reading) He helps a little town in Texas become indapendent from the rest.

Well if you have a super hero they have to have a story right? lol!!!

oh and his name is PH......I don't really know what that is but I know it is something we check in our hot tub!!!!
Brian David Dekter
laugh.gif ....I.D....this put the biggest smile on my face......and thanks for your kind words about the challenges....that makes me happy ...I forgot to mention these challenges being Cartoons can also give us the opportunity to practise our creative writing skills...you sure did great with that....I love the storey behind P.H. and your comments about the hot tub made me laugh out loud.. smile.gif Fantastic character, I hope you will continue with him.

Happy drawings, Brian.

siksnosparnyte

Brian David Dekter
laugh.gif Since he is invisible drawer32 I have no comment.....but I did have a good laugh... laugh.gif if he re appears please post him...lol..

Here is a quick drawing I did this morning......I really think Snoopy is a super hero....since he would dress up as a world war ace and fly in his Sopwith camel to fight the Red Baron...

Edited thanks to Ernest.....Sopwith camel is his plane......what was I thinking...lol...

Happy drawings, Brian.
Hrymfaxe
ID: Wow, a whole story behind your drawing! Thank you for sharing. Drawer32: That is a really clever superhero-drawing! tongue.gif And Brian: your Snoopy is cute when he is angry. He will get the Red Baron another day!

Here is my superhero. She has the power of levitation. And if she doesn't seem particularly superhero-like in this drawing then it is because she is practising her powers! wink.gif

drawer32
Hahah! Yes, well. The hardest thing about drawing invisible people is that it is hard to visualize on how to draw them tongue.gif but once you get the hang of it, it's not that hard anymore.

Tips; On how to draw invisible people:
Think of air!
Mitamy
laugh.gif laugh.gif what a funny challenge, drawer32 that invisible man made me laught, shor it wasn't because of his face but he really is funny (and super) laugh.gif
independentdrawer: great story it gives even more life to the cartoon biggrin.gif
Hrymfaxe: lol who would tell super heroes need practice? blink.gif laugh.gif

Ernest Friedman-Hill
OK, here's mine: with apologies to Mike Myers, it's Middle Aged Man!
[attachmentid=7827]
He has a pot belly, a double chin, and a badly receding hairline, but he has amazing powers of knowledge and experience: he can tell you how to get the best deal on a used car, how to regrout a tub, how to buy life insurance...
Brian David Dekter
laugh.gif laugh.gif Ernest...I love it!...what a great idea.

Brian David Dekter
A 70's Miss Marple.... laugh.gif Nair made me laugh out loud!

Here is my very own Super hero.....his name is Super Cop......he can not fly but he can run faster then Forest Gump....he has no left eye but has x-ray vision in his right eye....his job is to end all crime and war in the entire world....unfortunately he has a very hard job.

the first original drawing in ink and marker...the second same drawing I colored in photo-shop.

thanks for making this another fun challenge every one.

Happy drawings, Brian.
Cyn
Here is my surper hero clown. She makes people laugh with a single stumble, (I didn't say she was graceful). She can run faster , fall harder and laugh louder than superman.
Brian David Dekter
I am at work now....working to midnight and having one of those days ......but when I saw this Cyn I laughed out loud.....what have I started now....super hero clowns too laugh.gif Gosh I love ya Cyn ... wub.gif this is fantastic!

I have to add to this thread. Just because my wife is my super hero!!!

(Sorry David, I posted in the wrong thread earlier)
Brian David Dekter
Hi T-bird...nice to see you!......this is really beautiful I bet your wife loves it........I am curious how you did this and if you used a computer program for this.?

just to go over some rules of the challenge.....you may use your computer for coloring , graphics ...etc. or photo shop....I really want to keep this fun......but please for the purpose of this challenge.... post your original drawings first as I did with S.C.

Thanks for posting this T-bird......what a beauty.

Brian.
Cyn
T-bird does a lot of air brushing so I figure that it is some beautifully done air brush art.
Er, em, maybe? biggrin.gif
thunderbird9395
I only used the computer for coloring. I used illustrator pro 11.0. Then scanned onto a shirt. It is for my mine and my wife aniv. Here is original sketch.

Cyn--- Actually, as much as I would love to. I have never picked up an airbrush. I just use the puter.

Brian---- Thanks for the comments! You know I couldn't resist jumping in a challange in some way.

Cyn
Well T-bird, it just looked so good that maybe you should take up airbrushing. laugh.gif tongue.gif
trying
Here is my contribution. His name is The Lynx. More poses will follow.
Brian David Dekter
That must be quite a program T-bird and thanks for posting your drawing....I am glad to see you join the challenges again.

Cyn I had to learn more about air brushing... I admit I have little knowledge of it... blush.gif ....sure seems like quite a process....but the end result sure looks amazing from what I have seen.

Trying welcome to the challenge ....it is great to see you.... I admire your drawings....This is very creative.... I would like to hear more about Lynx.....great drawing! I look forward to more.

Brian.
thunderbird9395
Brian---Thanks for the welcome and comments.

Cyn----I would love that oppertunity, however it will be a long time before I can find the time to pick up an airbrush. Thank you for the compliment though.
siksnosparnyte
Great drawings everyone!

I just had to join this challenge biggrin.gif
Here's my superhero drawn while eating lunch

[attachmentid=7938]
Brian David Dekter
Very Cute Siksno.... very very cute! laugh.gif

I could not forget about Snoopy's closest friend and confidant.....Woodstock.....he is said to be so small that he is the only baseball player that gets an automatic walk if the ball rolls over him.. smile.gif Well not any more... just as long as he wears that cape I gave him he now has special powers.

Cyn
Here is my super hero. Pigpen sucks up the dirt and dust like a magnet leaving the house nice and clean. Right now he is in disguise without a cape or hero clothes. He just has a few tale-tale signs of his last housecleaning caper. rolleyes.gif
Brian David Dekter
laugh.gif: I love it Cyn....so that is why he is so dirty....you have made him busy cleaning. laugh.gif ..funny they actually used him in Vacuum cleaner commercials... Adorable drawing .... wub.gif you always put a smile on my face.
